Support for the economic recovery plan working its way through Congress has fallen again this week. For the first time, a plurality of voters nationwide oppose the $800-billion-plus plan.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 37% favor the legislation, 43% are opposed, and 20% are not sure.

Two weeks ago, 45% supported the plan. Last week, 42% supported it.

Opposition has grown from 34% two weeks ago to 39% last week and 43% today.

Sixty-four percent (64%) of Democrats still support the plan. That figure is down from 74% a week ago. Just 13% of Republicans and 27% of those not affiliated with either major party agree.

Seventy-two percent (72%) of Republicans oppose the plan along with 50% of unaffiliated voters and 16% of Democrats.

Related survey data shows that half the nation’s voters say the plan that finally emerges from Congress may end up doing more harm than good.

Amazing isn't it. Both parties run on a platform of destroying America, yet over 95% of us vote for them. Absolutely, amazing. I would say they are definitely smarter than us. Congress has 9% approval and 90% retention, how does that even make sense? Politicians play us like fiddles, so yeah, calling them stupid is not valid.

Good question. The fact is most Amercians are against this stimulus yet the politicians are refusing to listen to the taxpayers. We have a terrible disconnect in this country, the communication barrier is broken, we are not important to the politicians. Our voices have become irrelevant because special interests and foreigners have bought this country. No longer are we a voice for change, we have become the voice of dissent.

You mention 3rd party voting, I've thought about that many times over the years. How do you get enough money and support to build up a 3rd party that stands of the people, by the people and for the people? When you can answer your own question, let me know.

Fact is, a 3rd party works in theory. The problem is once a 3rd party began to grow and consume seats in the house and or senate is that the crooks and fools would slither in. Dems and Reps would infest a new party and we have a 3rd party with many of the same old dirtbags and sellouts calling the shots. The true problem is corporations and the money they throw around plus special interests and foreign jerkoffs interfering for thier personal gain.

A 3rd party would have to raise money from all those groups or directly from the people but would they listen to us?? That's the big mystery. Could we keep the crooks and fools out? Doubtful, we'd have to create laws and rules, yet lawyers would fight those rules.

So the best solution I can come up with is the one the politicians refuse to discuss...........we need term limits in Congress to get rid of the dead wood, the corrupt, the bafoons and total idiots, the sellouts and the crooks. We have to vote them out of office.

Obama is Not Change We Can Beleive In, Obama is a plutocrat who does not have control of the Bill nor the situation surrounding the Bill. Obama refuses to acknowledge that his Bill is not going to create a lot of jobs. The Bill is old pork re-written so they can loot our futures and refuse to acknowledge thier failure to lead the country in the right direction. Obama has just exposed his true colors, Obama is Not Change We Can Believe In.

Let me know who you'd propose to create a third party or force politicians to pass term limits?? We have many 3rd parties in DC now, but they all vote either democrat or republican or independant.

I know, but its a valid metphor that justifies the complaints of the people. Dissent and loud voices are the only thing we have left. I don't see them as smarter than us because thier logic and thier responses to our complaints are illogical and stupid. They dodge the bulk of a question and talk on and on in hopes they can sell us a Bill of Goods that will do us no good. Fact is, they don't care if the look dumb, crooked or foolish, they have the money, the power and the protection to keep the wheels in DC rolling. We have to shame them into submission or fight on a whole new level. We have more guns, but they have better weapons, but the people do not have the will to fight them. The people have plenty of distractions to keep them complacent.

They are scared and scrambling now because our complacency is eroding.
Dems wants to insert their personal agendas into this bill.
Right now jobs are the only fix and it will take time for better times to return, but private sector jobs are the only measuring stick.
Every line in the bailout that doesnt accomplish this need to be scraped at this time. Then if he gets good reults he can go back and say I really believe in this or that.
I am not a fan of tax breaks but its popular and would have to be included.
Stop running for office mr. president and lead.
