Default Should We Discuss And Learn From The Past?

My first history teacher taught me that you have to learn from the past in order to avoid making the mistakes. Of course by the time he told me that I think I had already put that into practice but just hadn't formalized it in a clear concise thought at age 7 or 8.

Do you come here to learn, discuss or just make a point?

I hear so many people simply repeating words from pundits, and that include all pundits.

I also see people writing stupid thoughts like "Newsflash- Bush isn't President anymore" and "Nuff said".

We have to learn from the past and we have to openly discuss if we are to learn anything.

Of course if you have no desire to learn and just feel the need to make a point or have a feeble desire to be right than you might want to take a good look at your life. I remember the most disturbing I ever saw on any board was a man that thought it mattered to me if he was right or not. I still have a hard time imaging what a deep level of emotional damage this man has.

Why do you come here? Is it to learn, discuss, repeat or try to make a point?

Yes, yes and yes.

I'm not quite sure what your point is. Maybe you're pontificating, but I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this.

And besides, you should practice what you preach. wayers pretty much laid you out in that cap and trade thread and you keep fucking going back for more.

Let it fucking go already, you were wrong. Why can't you just fucking admit it? You're holding this other guy to the same standard but not yourself.

As I read much of your postings, I can't help but to admire you. You are one of those rare individuals who doesn't waste time wining and dining your opponent before you slam him. You open the gates and let it all flow out in one form or another. Gotta be something said for a person that isn't afraid to say what's on his mind and whether or not he cares what others think....

You have an interesting way of putting it all down on paper, so to speak. Are you a writer of sorts?

Who me?

I call it like I see it, and I'm a fucking equal opportunity offender.

No, I don't write for a living, I'm just witty like that sometimes. And good looking also.

I have to mark my calendar, I think this is the first time you've ever responded to me on this fucking forum.

Look - you're not dragging me into this debate. You're a spin doctor, I don't care to get caught up in all that. wayers made his case, he supported it, it made sense. All you did was try to spin it around especially when it looked like your position was faltering.

That's my fucking honest and humble opinion.

Dude, you said that I was wrong and I'll admit it if I was but show me the statement where I was wrong?

I should Wayers over and over again the statement that I felt was wrong and he was never able and in fact never even attempted to support it.

There's no spin here. Just show me the statement that I made was wrong and I will either explain why I made it or admit that I was wrong. That's how I am. Go ahead. Which statement did I make in that thread that was wrong?
