Default Should stereotypes and racial slurs be taught in school?

It seems like we expect everyone to know every stereotype, racist joke, ethnic slur, and racial image from history and apply that to every thing they do in their lives. To make sure we don't accidentally offend someone with racial messages, must we not make it required learning to know all slurs and stereotypes?

    Heck no.

This would provide a platform people like Gary and Philly Rabbit to exercise their racism under the guise of state sanction.

As in high school when our English teacher decided to let the worst redneck read Mark Twain OUT LOUD.

So how can someone know what others might find offensive and what they won't?

Ask who? Someone else who is not up to date on all their slurs and stereotypes?

Ask any person who represents the object of your comments that could be stereotypical or racist.

I think most people suspect what is offensive.

But they want the freedom to be offensive.

    It is a weird contradiction.

Schwarzenegger. Gives many people the excuse to say that forbidden word in public.

My own thinking is that what should be taught from Grade 1 through 12 is Buddhist thoughts and philosopy. That way, Twain's subject matter about race, and more so for Huck Finn could be taught in context to the historical record ...

    Fuck that.

I don't want to hear that word coming out of the mouths of whites for any reason.

It is shouting 'fire' in the theater.

And for the State to try to fuck it down my throat is just wrong.
