Bobby Jindal: Make Congress part-time
Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal wants members of Congress to stay home more often.
“We used to pay farmers not to grow crops, let's pay congressmen to stay out of Washington, D.C.,” Jindal said in an interview with Human Events. “Mark Twain said that our liberty, our wallets were safest when the legislature's not in session.”
Jindal, himself a former congressman, said once elected, many lawmakers become entrenched in Washington and become the very people they once campaigned against.
“Make them part-time, give them term limits,” Jindal said. “Don’t let them become lobbyists. When they have to live under the same rules and laws they pass for the rest of us, maybe you’d see some more common sense coming out of Washington, D.C.”
As the system works today, he said, “you’ve got a permanent governing political class.”

The main point of my post... he is an ex-Congressman, current Governor..... but he is complaining about the government.... wants to go against the constitution by turning congress into a part time job.

Forcing people to buy insurance goes against it as well, are you displeased with that?
Im pretty sure thatcovers that in the United States Declaration of Independencecertain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Oh... no one is forced...... They can get insurance and a tax break.... or they can stay uninsured and get no tax cut.

It's the perpetual refrain from the left that if we just had the "right people" in charge (whoever that may be), then government would work great. And yet we get different people in year after year, decade after decade, century after century and government still functions in fundamentally the same clunky, wasteful, and often counterproductive way. And having more of it, doesn't make it better. It just gives you more of the same. I don't know what more I can say to help you libs realize that it's not the people in office but simply the nature of the office itself.
