Default 28 Year WV Dem Congressman Sent Packing

    Another one bites the dust.

One more down, a shitload to go.

Mollohan Loss Signals Potential Trouble For Democrats

Over the weekend, delegates to the Utah Republican convention ousted Sen. Robert Bennett (R-UT) from serving a fourth-term in Washington.

Tuesday night, Democratic primary voters in West Virginia showed 28-year Congressional veteran Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-WV) the door.

Democratic state Sen. Mike Oliverio toppled Mollohan. Oliverioís victory made Mollohan the first House casualty in what has already been a turbulent midterm election year.

Mollohan is only the second House incumbent to lose in two election cycles. Former Rep. Chris Cannon (R-UT) lost his primary in 2008.
Oliverio went after Mollohanís alleged ethical lapses. And pro-life Democrats criticized Mollohan for voting in favor of the health care reform bill.

The Democrats are falling all over themselves

The Shadow Party derives its power from its ability to raise huge sums of money. By controlling the Democrat purse strings, the Shadow Party can make or break any Democrat candidate by deciding whether or not to fund him. During the 2004 election cycle, the Shadow Party raised more than $300 million for Democrat candidates, prompting one of its operatives, MoveOn PAC director Eli Pariser, to declare, 'Now itís our party. We bought it, we own itÖ'

Why is this important news? So we replaced one democrat who was unethical with another who is a socialist - what difference does it make?? The only thing it really affects is that the Republicans in WVa would have preferred to run against Mollohan with his ethics problems as they had a small chance of unseating him - now they dont and we just have another career democrat who will be going to congress

It shows the political climate of the country when 30 year career politicians are being ousted right and left.

Votes have consequences and I think this is just the beginning. The crooks who sold their constituents up the river voting for this healthcare bomb will pay a price, and rightfully so.

The importance of this is that the American people are starting to do exactly what we predicted they would do. They are showing those in congress how they feel about them passing that turd sandwich called "Obamacare".

The opposition to that multi trillion dollar cluster-fuck, isn't just from republicans.

I love it when people really truly believe that changing the face that appears in congress will change anything that happens in congress.
Until you can get congress to pass a law that outlaws lobbyists - you will not have any change
The guy that took the democratic seat in WVa is a perfect example as he is paid for by the coal industry, health care industry, insurance, real estate and a few out of state PACs - granted the campaigns in WVa are not the "richest" in the country since his FEC is only $300K - but the great majority are from energy and health care companies and individuals working for those companies

Regardless, it will send the message when you give your constituents the finger, your ass will get thrown out in the street.

I look forward to Harry Reid's shitcanning, as well as Blanche Lincoln, the 'Louisiana Purchase' woman to get her walking papers.

So you are just happy with getting personal revenge instead of actually changing things to help the country in the future - isnt that rather self-centered?
One of these days we'll actually grow a generation of people that want to make a real change for the good of this country instead of just thinking about themselves
