While liberals fight for affordable healthcare for everyone, jobs, a cleaner planet, alternative energy and a whole agenda of reforms to make life better for all citizens of this country, what is the newest pressing issue for conservatives? Legislation to prohibit the creation of mermaids and centaurs.:lmao2: No wonder why the right has become completely irrelevant in this country. Will Obama be re-elected in 2012? :lmao2:
"The Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act would ban the creation of human-animal hybrids. Human-animal hybrids are defined as those part-human, part-animal creatures, which are created in laboratories, and blur the line between species."

Well, apparently there has been some nutty scientists out there that have delved into creepy things of that sort. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. No wonder they've got legislation going on stopping it. Otherwise, why bother?

While not yet finding a way to pay for any of it other than soaking those that actually produce in this country thus either driving them out of business or overseas. Great plan!

God forbid we propose limiting the perversions of those on the left.
No wonder why the right has become completely irrelevant in this country. Will Obama be re-elected in 2012?
It is more likely due to the lack of morality in this country over the last few years. However, don't kid yourself. A lot of polls are showing that more and more people are beginning to consider themselves conservatives. They are beginning to see where liberal policies are taking us.

Help me understand. You are against a bill prohibiting the creation of human-hybrids? In other words you think it is okay to "create" a human hybrid from a mixture of human and animal, assuming it is even possible.
What a great idea, then we can use the hybrids as soldiers and that way we don't have to care if they get killed in combat seeing as how there ain't no one waiting for them to come home. What the hell we could make thousands, maybe millions of them, after all they would be expendable, wouldn't they? When the war is over we can just deactivate them and put them in storage until the next war.
You've got some great ideas.
Then again perhaps they came up with this type of legislation to prevent or stop what may already be going on.

With your luck if you have to go through government health care to get it you'd probably get assigned a woodpecker dick or a sex change operation.
Don't worry Hog, the liberals will take good care of you.

I think the real issue in this was:
If the created creature is part human, will a Chimera have basic "Human rights", in the legal sense.

This is a stupid piece of legislation and potientally harmful to scientific research.
Scientists aren't actually looking to create animal human hybrids. They do use a variety of techiques that fuse genetic material between the two though and legislation like this would never be able to keep up with the developing science as to what was legal and what was not. Future techniques might be hampered because researchers would be unsure if what they wanted to do was legal.
For instance the splicing of human genes into bacteria and mice etc. is widely used by the Pharmaceutical industry for developing and testing drugs. Their ability to advance such procedures should not be hindered by ridiculous notions of manbeasts.
