I don't really believe any of us are surprised by any of this...It's happening on every network.
The glorification of a pedophile drug addict...I suppose laughing is better than getting angry.

Now, now, now......it's not nice to speak ill of the dead. I think the service today was very nice. The whole story is really sad to me.

No, I'm serious. Regardless of how eccentric he was, he still has a grieving family and is the only parent that little girl ever knew. I think the whole thing is pretty sad.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Where's the communism come in at? Anyway, I think the world has heard enough about MJ. Time to move on to more important things that are happening. Hero worship...geesh. :talktothehand:

Because it gives the news a reason not to cover what is going on in Washington that will negatively affect our lives. The Soviet news agencies NEVER reported on controversial subjects choosing instead to only cover fluff news stories. This was a deliberate move to keep the people un-informed as to what was really going on in the world. The thought was that if they knew how bad things really were, they would revolt.

I'm still not seeing how that's at all relevant. In the USA we have TV, radio, papers, and the internet at the very least. If you don't want to hear or see news about Michael Jackson then you don't have to. If you want to continue hearing and seeing news about world events and other national news then you can.
Anyone reading this has access to the internet I'm assuming, so you can very easily fill your day with news and reporting other than MJ.
And besides, let's not get crazy. MJ is one of the biggest celebrities ever, so of course news is going to cover his death and funeral. The coverage will lessen, as you very well know, and will eventually be next to nothing.

It's not, I just heard it called that one time and I thought it was funny, so it stuck for me.

Every mag & trashloid cover has his pictZ on it.......... The time life folks will come out w/ glossy memorabilia @ $15-$20 a pop............. Perhaps dwarfing the crazy sales after Obama's election..........
He was exploited in life & so it shall be in death............

Yeah, good old capitalism at its worst. The man hasn't even been in his grave three weeks and the vultures are swarming all over trying to cash in one way or the other. Disgusting. He was what he was in life. In death he's another lost soul.
