The U S fought 2 wars against Britain. One to kick them out & one to keep them from coming back in. So why does anyone give a damn about them. This is nothing more than the U K's way of reminding people that they use to rule a large part of the world. I think the proper way to address the "Royals" is the use of one's middle finger of either hand in the direction of wherever the 'Royals" may be. Lots of countries have "Royals", why make a big deal out of these British blowhards. They're Britain's pride 'n glory. They can have 'em!!!!!!!!!!

Lunch...if you had a few hundreds of billions of dollars in you control...would you put it your mattress or under the back step.,..or would you invest it in world markets...with each of your decisions effecting that market.

The Queen is a world shaker...that chump closet pres, is an ignorant opportunist that the Queen could twist his nuts at will.

Don;t you think butch's laying his hands on a seated German head of state, showing all the benevolence of a man patting his dog, might produce repercussions somewhere down the line?

This stupid shit is forging international relationships we are going to live with for years to come...and he insults heads of state just being himself...that of a burnt out substance abusing boy cheerleader of questionable morality and sexuality.

Lunch...there is nothing humorous and nothing to engender your "what me worry" response about butch's "diplomacy"-challenged condition. His blunders costs us all...if not outright, then in the future forming of treaties and coalitions...in global warming, disaster response, trade and now in butch's newly generated crop of terrorist needing control.

The longer Boy George stays in office the better it is for the Democrats. I dare Cheney to try 'n pull another 9/11 to boost the Liar in Chief's standing in the polls.

The royals are more or less a tourist attraction...whether they're in the UK or abroad, and that's the function they really serve. Are they interesting...in some ways they are as they represent a "living history" of a political system that's long gone.

So, I don't really mind the show of it all.

Blue...the English royals are the richest conglomerate in England...I wasn't speaking of her political clout...although she has a powerful amout of that too...she frowns and millions of her "subjects" are ready ti march in protest...I spoke expressly to her wealth and connections.

She has been a backroom political power for 60 years at least...she knows everyone. You would have to be English to understand the wellspring of the love the English have for that personage.

If you are to discount the unifying power of the bully pulpit, you haven't a reasonable knowlege or sense of history.

Actually, my grasp of history is just fine and that's why I find the royals interesting. There's times when you can just look at something for what it is and observe it as such.

Its been my experience that those in the U S who like the "royals" do so far a number of reasons. One is that the 'royals" serve as a reminder to the world that white people used to own alot of it. Another is that "royals" serve as an inspiration to those who harbor ill will towrds the catholic church.

You're idiot that possesses a special brand of stupidity. You should be proud of yourself that you can inject race into every single topic. By the way, I just drank a glass of milk and it was....WHITE...shocking isn't it...does that make me a racist?

I happened to study history and enjoy history because humans haven't changed much at all and you can learn quite a bit about the human condition by studying the past. In that regard the royals are interesting in the regards of a historical perspective. If you can't appreciate history for what it is, so be it, but again you show just how mentally limited you are.

Blue... had the same race injection thing as you, but I didn't react because I hate these bigotted back and forths and didn't want to begin one.

I was in Cuba in the early 60's just when Castro's boys came down from the mountains.
I came up in a time where the N-word had a prominant position in what passed for humor, and no one thought to be self conscious about it, or what their "funnin" actually meant to blacks.

In Cuba, I was blown away that the concept of any color distinction was totally missing. I had never experienced more than people acting politically correct...no one thought to act in cuba.

This absense of prejudice gave me the context to see the mindless viciousness of judging people by color.

I shitcanned it all in that moment and felt a rush of freedom...dumped an unspoken cultural responsibility to uphold the white...the European...the cultured. KKK thinking I wasn't aware I had in me it left in that moment.

Ever since then, I see only people...I was feed thinking about race...I could have saved a lot of time if I had the same thing about women...but alas, I bunch them into a group and lust after them, still a prisoner to my prejudices:)

There's nothing wrong eith you enjoying milk, the question is: Do you enjoy "chocolate, strawberry or carmel flavored milk as much as you do the other?' Or more importantly, do you favor one at the expense of the other. Many books have been written & studies done regarding the psychological & sociological implications. I agree with you about history. I just finished a book," Dreadnoughts", which dealt with some of the things that led to WW1. It dealt alot with Britain & German royalty & the roles they played. My comments earlier weren't meant to say that is the reason for your fascination with the "royals" but that simply those reasons I gave do apply to some & not all.
