I have never seen Bill Maher be more right.

He said McCain was right. When have you ever heard that before?

He also said Obama should be more like Bush. Funny stuff.

Please try to refute what he said.I dare ya'.

I am glad you and the welsher have finally come to your senses. I agree with Maher too. It's past time for Obama to take off the kid's gloves and seriously shove much needed legislation right up the right wing's arse. I too am growing restless with the way he has been catering to the right. Maher is spot on. Obama has the power. Use it!

What a shock the left leaning people on this site have no answer to Bill Mahers comments. Wow I am shocked.

I agree that Obama is pandering far to much to those on the right and does need to take the baby gloves off and kick some right wing ass.

Sorry folks, but this President is not fighting for real health care reform. It's nibbling that leaves insurance companies still running the show. And the banks, the banks that brought us to financial ruin and then got bailout money, are laughing at us about how easy it was to get back to 'business as usual.' And scientists keep saying that if we want to keep living, you know, on Earth, it's kind of essential we reduce carbon dioxide by 40% in the next ten years. Obama's bill calls for 4%.

This is not getting the job done, and this is not what I voted
I agree 100 percent with those comments...he is trying to pander to those on the right and more center than to the left. This is not what I and alot of people voted for...we wanted change not more of the status qou.

Maher is right. While I don't agree with a lot of what Obama's doing, he has the power, the dems have the power, they won't / can't blame Republican obstructionists for not getting their agenda through. They have the power, use it, if they don't, who the hell are they going to blame in the next election?

Honestly though, this is almost a chronic Democrat problem, they have the gun loaded, cocked, and they won't pull the trigger. Dems during Bush's term were...umm...pathetic really...they didn't use the power they had and instead walked right along with Bush.

Maher is also right, the only thing that amazed me about Bush, he pushed through his agenda, hate it or not, the guy was pushing stuff through even in the last minutes of his Presidency.

That's not Obama's style.

His image takes priority over everthing else. Either he's got someone else on it, or he's manipulating his plans into place with his charming rhetoric. He doesn't want anyone to see him, personally, as a "pushy guy". He seems very sensitive about that.

I think the charm assault will only work for so long. I mean, watching Obama, he's a likable guy, but really how long will that last if he doesn't start acting with the power that he currently is wielding. This type of power only lasts for a really short time, if he doesn't jump on it, he'll lose the chance.
