Awesome.. So in response to one of my posts you said:
God has always been a part of our government, standard of living, it is even printed on our money. It is sad how we took out of our schools and public places and now we have an abundance of school shootings and deliquency. Cry about religion all you want, but our children acted in better in school with it than without it.
To which my reply was:

The pledge of allegiance was perverted into the prayer of allegiance in 1954.
Something went off track during the 40s & 50s.
Religion perverted good, sensible government, yet again.

It's so amusing when those on the right bring up "founding fathers" in a discussion.
It's as if they never bothered to actually read what some of our founding fathers wrote and what practices they engaged in.
They weren't even all christians. And several of those who were had adamant opinions against mixing religion and government.
Not to mention all the stuff they approved of such as oppression against women and non-whites. If you're gonna tout the founding fathers then you have to accept the total package, not just the parts that are presently politically correct.

Good government is always a work in progress.
Any time ones thinks everything is already taken care of is when you can be certain you are headed towards a living hell.
The constitution is pretty good, apologies to blacks & women. We would be in much better shape if we had adhered to our modern interpretation of it.
We have work to do to even get back to constitutionality.
It would seem that many Americans no longer value its requirement of due process & cruel & unusual punishment. I think those people need to go live in some tyranny for as long as it takes them to figure out that 'liberal democracy' is a fucking heaven compared to that.
Torture is terrorism.
If you inflict it, you can only logically expect to receive it in return.

Yes, and letting all the ignorant fucks vote was supposedly a good idea. this is for bluejunk might i add. White properity owners which would mean those with a higher education rate typically. As one of our founding fathers said something like one ignorant voter destorys the whole system.
Thats where you assume oppresion but it was for protection of everybodys rights. As we have changed these laws which is naturally acceptable we also have let in the uninformed and ignorant with no way to stop this flow.
of course they didn't want to mix govenrment with religion. What a stupid thing to say. I needn't expand as you are a tick in human form.

Wow...
Who in the hell does any politician think he or she is by trying to insert morals into the political arena?
The founding fathers used God as a guide and inspiration, but they left the concept of God open to interpretation. Reagan used God to win votes. He tried to define morality into law. Which is never what any of the founding fathers intended when breaking away from the Catholic Church of England.
Anybody who uses God for their own personal gain is a low-life asshole.

All Law, in essence, is based on some sort of "moral" concept. It's a moral concept, to observe a standard, or right a wrong, with laws. The same concept as someone who considers it immoral to "break the law". It's all just a question of degrees.

the mere mention of my sweet SAVIOR evinces such emotional reaction
no, be calm, the FAITH of LOVE can never harm
now, you disagree with it, good, fine
but respect it, it's your neighbors, some in your family, your friends, your kids...

for them, it's not faith, it's knowledge

I can agree with that, but we are talking about the difference between pedophilia and two guys exchanging vows. And the difference between murder and abortions: which are allowed by law with varying degrees in all fifty states. And the difference between dropping drugs in some chick's drink and toking up on a joint after a long day at work.
Murder will never be legal. Neither will domestic abuse. And neither will sexual abuse of a child. These and many other can be agreed to across the board from any logically thinking person.
The moral agenda was created by the Christian Right of this country in order to force the values they hold into the legal cement of our US and state constitutions. The moral agenda is asking the US Government for the first time in our Country's history to exclude people to certain guaranteed rights.
How can you argue for less government in dealing with states rights and economic affairs on one hand but push for more government in dealing with individual rights on the other?
I respect the fact that you believe in Biblical principles, but that respect stops once those principles are forced upon the people.

The bible condemns usury, the lending of money for interest.
How you gonna get a mortgage then?
The bible says you should stone all non-virgin brides to death.
The bible says you should stone all adulterers to death.
The bible tells slaves to obey their Earthly masters.
The bible is a barbarian text, with a barbarian god, from a barbarian time.

they're not normal now either
also, in the past a disturbed young person may not have shot classmates, but they still expressed themselves in negative ways. the only way your assertion would be true would be for all young people for the past 200+ years not doing anything violent. obviously that's not true.
some biblical rules are perfectly OK. Jesus has his famous line of turning the other cheek and giving an attacker your tunic also. but then others are very absurd and christians don't follow them anyhow. here's a great example that you can share with the women in your life:
1 Timothy 2:9-15 “in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.”
yeah 99% of American christian women ignore the hell out of that one

Thank you for proving my very point. Who in the hell are you to dictate what my "place" is? What makes your more qualified to set the definitions of morality for others who are just as capable to reach conclusion on their own? Quit thinking your point of view holds a superior platform because you feel yours is inspired by God. My "place" is just as valid as anyone's, and to say anything different just proves how ignorant and one-track minded those who support the moral majority can be.
