Have you heard the recent thoughts of this administration?
Now they are considering taxing the personal use of employer provided cellphones.
Seems they have come up with some formula that says if an employer provides you with a cell phone than the government is going to assume that a percentage of the use of the phone is personal and that the individual who has that cell phone assigned to him/her is in fact receiving additional compensation from their employer and it should be reflected in their annual wages and therefore taxed as additional income.
What's next? The government going to tax people for drinking employer supplied coffee or water cooler visits?
If the employer supplies you a building to work in are they gonna now find a way to tax that on the employee?
What about pens, notepads, computers and or anything else an employer normally provides their employees to conduct business on their behalf?
Are all these things going have a percentage allocated as personal use by the government and then taxed?
Who the hell comes up with these ideas?
