If they have anything in common it's that. Bin Laden grew up driving Mercedes as a kid, living the "great" life. In my amatuer pschological opinion & after having read a number of books about him (The Looming Tower most recent), all this crap Bin Laden has done is nothing more than his attempt to measure up to his father's legacy. Bin Laden's father, having over 50 kids, had very little time for many of them though they all adored him. So all this crap is Bin Laden's attempt to win his father's approval (even though he's been deceased for sometime). Bush is doing pretty much the samething. Either trying to win his father's approval or out do him in some way. It'd been much simplier if they could've had a duel in the middle of some dusty wesrtern ghost town but being spoiled rich boys neither one had the guts for that.

What really amazes me is that most Americans dont realize both families are very friendly and the Bin Laden family has been at the Bush's ranch as guests - including Osama when he was working for the CIA during the Iran Iraq war - under the name of Tim Ossman

I don't know about that but in the book "House of Bush House of Saud' it reveals how the Saudi royals played a large role in putting Bush in a position to buy into a partnership with the Texas Rangers, which is the closet he's ever come to a successful business venture. One he had absolutely nothing to do with.

You'd be amazed if you follow that little comment you made about the Rangers to its fullest and find out who really brokered the deal :) Can you say Gonzales

His other biz ventures - especially the oil company that he owned until he got out of it with the Saudis, was just the little icing on the cake - there is a list of people he's had business's with that would make you tingle all over :)
The bin Ladens have been family friends of the Bush's ever since Daddy was the head of the CIA - look at who daddy Bush was meeting with on the morning of 9/11 :)

A close freind of the Saudi royals bought Boy George's failing oil business. Why? To gain influence with daddy who was president at the time. Guess who orginally was going to buy it? George Soros & Harvard University. Boy George used inside trading to cash in but a freind of daddy's did the investigation & let him off. If this guy wasn't more useful to the Dems in rather than out of office he'd be outa there. There are 2 famalies very close to the Saudi royals. The family who bought Boy George's failing oil business & the Bin Ladens. Any more questions?
