You know the biggest common thread I tend to see in people who claim to be conservatives or the far right on this board. The complete intolerance for human transgressions. Its amazing to me to see people who will cast stones at others for simply doing what humans do. You would think that none of these people has ever, lied, cheated, stole, or otherwise done anything immoral in their lives.
It is the arrogance that astounds me. They hold people to a higher standard than they would even hold themselves...

No, the difference is that conservatives have no tolerance for people who refuse to accept responsiblity for their own actions, always wanting a 2nd, 3rd, etc. chance.
Conservatives make mistakes and screw up like anyone else. The difference is that a true conservative learns from their mistakes and puts measures in place to prevent repeating them.

Also conservatives are up front with what they believe, unlike you who tries to portray themselves as an independant all the while trashing every conservative on the board and praising everything Obama.

Sounds a lot like what parents teach their children. You know, set the bar higher. They say things like "you can be better than me" and "don't make the mistakes I did".

harry from independence, mri,
i can only speak for myself, but what really animates me is the double standard our mainstream media have for the human transgressions you point to
like mr rangel, or mr murtha, or ms difi and her bloomin husband
or mr edwards, man...
if that were a republican
like ms palin's daughter
or MS california
etc, etc
thanks, harry

Agreed...I think the sampling on this board shouldn't speak for all conservatives though...as they seem to have a little more vitriol.
The funny thing is that most of the Great Presidents / Politicians / Leaders couldn't even get elected now and not because of a lack of qualifications, but instead because they couldn't live up to the insane morality that no human could live up to.

Yea definetly we need a president whos killed a man, they have seemed to work out in the past.
That or a man whos commanded others like a general turned politician, atleast we wouldnt have to fear terrorists hitting America.

This isn't how we behave like this in real life.
We're simply being overly aggressive with liberals here, so when they get out in the real world, we (Conservatives) hope the lessons they learn in here will help them defend themselves in the real world.
You see, we (Conservatives) are "givers" at heart. Innocent and fun-loving harmless little fur-balls.

Well, generally I give allowances for people posting on forums as they become a little more of a caricaturization in this type of venue.
I just generally try to act as I do in person, because I'm sure there's people that just read this forum and get the wrong impression because of the nature of the net and their lack of experience online.
I don't think forums will change many opinions one way or another, but I do think that expressing your ideas without the angst really helps get the message across.
Delivering a point without the extra frills removes the outs your opponent has for not answer the question. I'd rather make a person deal with the subject rather instead of giving them a backdoor excuse to escape the question or change the topic.

The scary thing is, many probably do (not naming any particular left-winged nut case in here - pick any one of them)...
