Nice try but you forget Democrats are educated unlike most republicans.Derelicts and bums notoriously vote democratic because they want a handout from the "rich", read-that---anyone with a job.

And the losers on the street corners at 10:00 in the morning drinking a Schlitz Malt aren't rocket scientists looking for work.

O'Reilly has the highest rating because they use the same biz model used prior to Bush taking office. The biz model worked great because it tailored the way the media have reported facts fordecades coupled with O'Reilly's flare and arrogant style and it works.

Liberals have destroyed thier ratings because they have failed to see that people want the facts free of bias and free of deceptive party tactics. Liberals have many many failed radio shows, failed TV shows and they don't care to change, the same is true of several newspapers. They've forgot that people use more than one source and when we see a network or paper overlooking facts we gravitate to authoritative news sources. Many liberals watch Fox because they can't get all the facts from MSNBC and the other failed biased media sellout sources.

Liberals have flip flopped on too many important issues and we have seent he media sellout the nation too many times. The liberal media have 75% control of the and they have lower ratings..............because they are failures to adhere to a nonpartisan standard to meet the needs of all Americans.

I said OReilly is unbiased and so is Greta V. Brit hume runs a straight show as well so as usual you got your facts all wrong. O'Reilly has been number one of all news shows for 100 months.........that's over 8 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know several dems who watch Fox for facts they can't get from liberal sellouts......people want facts and they want honesty. Liberal bias is a failure and I'm glad they are losing money they don't deserve.

Ratings like this doesn't really reflect upon how the population feels about conservatism or liberalism. There's plenty of liberals that watch O'Reilly purely to get angry at him...doesn't mean they're going to vote for a conservative or have conservative ideals.

Also, people don't realize this huge shift to the internet. Why watch someone, be unable to participate, when you can blog about topics, influence people, change their minds, or just piss them off. The internet is what tv was when it first came out...I'll take a guess and say each passing year you'll see the net playing a bigger part in who gets elected...just like it did the last election. We started seeing this with people like Ron Paul and Howard Dean...the net community gave them more life then TV did...expect that to grow in a few years.

I never said libs would switch parties but clearly Oreilly is closer to neutral than most who hate him would agree. Liberals hate anyone who expose facts they don't want the public to know. Look at the low classed attacks on this site, post facts about Obama and get attacked fo expressing free speech. but many libs want to know all the facts, the good, bad and the ugly. Who wants to be decieved by liberals.........selective journalismm is bad when either party uses it to sell the news.

People get more facts from the internet, in fact I read facts online before I see them on TV all the time. The net is faster and more efficient

Nice try but you forget Democrats are educated unlike most republicans.

During the election campaign in 2000 between Bush and Gore, there was one of those Sunday morning panels discussing the distinctions between the 2 parties and candidates. During that discussion, George Stepanopoulos said something pretty interesting that has stuck with me to this day. He said (and I paraphrase), "Generally Republican voters are more educated that Democratic voters."

Now if this had come from any other pundit, I would have blown it off. However, here is George Stepanopoulos having just recently served in the Clinton administration saying that Republican voters are more educated than Democrats. This told me a lot about how the Dems see their base and how they tailor their policies to attract votes from that base.

One of my favorite poems is by Edgar Allen Poe, the last line of it goes, "Is all that we see or seem...But a dream within a dream?"

There's really no alter of unbiased knowledge anywhere. Doesn't matter if it's the tv, radio, or web. People are manipulating information constantly for the sake of money, power, greed, or something else...rarely is it altruistic in nature and almost everyone does it...Reps, Dems, Independents, etc.

Until you're on the other side of that manipulation you truly don't understand the motivations behind it. Since I write webpages, I get to see that other side, and I write on a bunch of different topics.

If tomorrow I were to venture into building a political website, that was purely geared towards making money, I'd immediately pick a side, go ape shit on the other side, take information and bend it to my point of view. This isn't about being honest with my own political beliefs, this is purely about money, and what sells is the extreme.

As consumers of information, people need to look at multiple sources, do extra research, and also just use some commonsense. The problem is that we're inundated with 24/7 news, 24/7 web, 24/7 everything and constant fact checking becomes nearly impossible for the average person that just wants to earn a living, drink beer, have sex, and sleep 8 hours a day.

O'Reilly is what he is...he's got a formula that works...but no one should ever think that his information is devoid of bias, might not be political bias like some think, but financial, yeah...I'd say that's part of it. I don't fault him for it, but it is the way it is with most media / news.

Agreed. Its about selling the right information, money, power and political control. Both sides do it appears that the left can't handle the truth as well even though the liberal media out number conservatives. Libs are losing ground because they are more baise, they lie more often and they delete facts and the people have been educated on thier sleazy ways.

I see both sides because I vote for whom I feel best represents my ideals, I'll never follow a party because I refuse to look the other way when i see faults, crimes and ethical issues. Dems are trained and manipulated into looking the other way...... I will not be a victim of circumstances nor will I be silent, dems don't like they. They want conformity and if you refuse they attack you, they slander and defame you and they abuse you 1st Amendment Rights. A congressman spoke at a college recently and he was me twith dem attacks repeatedly..his rights were violated just to keep him from speaking.

OReilly may be biased to his party occassionally but he stays neutral far more often than that shitheel Kieth Olberman whose far left ideals include lies, slander, defamation and liberal attacks. OReilly has a model that works, dems should be watching the man to learn what the liberal media refuse to disclose.

O'Reilly isn't really biased to his party as much as he's biased to his demographics. I'll continue using the website for an example because it's what I know...say I'm checking my stats, checking maybe a opt in newsletter, etc, etc...I can get an idea of the demographic I'm working with and present information that would appeal to that demographic. Occasionally I'll venture out to get more people in from other areas, but always in the back of my mind is...please my base of viewers.

That's what I believe O'Reilly is doing and I'll even say he doesn't always believe the stuff he's espousing, but he knows what his viewers like, he checks his numbers constantly...if he does something that gets people to turn off, he won't do it again...if he gets people to turn on, he'll keep doing that.

People can judge him, sure, but ultimately we all do it on a smaller scale on a daily basis. Rarely do you find people that speak their actual mind all the time...that person would have a difficult time existing in the world as we know it.
