WASHINGTON -- Cyberspies have penetrated the U.S. electrical grid and left behind software programs that could be used to disrupt the system, according to current and former national-security officials.

The spies came from China, Russia and other countries, these officials said, and were believed to be on a mission to navigate the U.S. electrical system and its controls. The intruders haven't sought to damage the power grid or other key infrastructure, but officials warned they could try during a crisis or war.

"The Chinese have attempted to map our infrastructure, such as the electrical grid," said a senior intelligence official. "So have the Russians."

It wasnt till after the country recovered from the damage of the civil war that other countries took notice and started envying what we have. In 1876 a deal was struck to remove federal troops out of the south and end reconstruction. From 1877 on we started to Industrialize.

Yea, sounds like the same attitude this country had in the 1930's. Head in the sand thinking if we ignored evil, it would leave us alone. Just as Japan and Germany were building their armies, the U.S. decided it was not our war and REFUSED to arm herself.

Then suddenly on December 7, 1941 reality hit.

Those of us that are capable of understanding our role in this world and the consequence of the refusal to acknowledge evil would tend to believe that it would be better (and ultimately cheaper) to maintain that very power military than to appear week to the rest of the world and invite that evil to our shores.

Then there are some that believe that if we just play nice with evil, they will love us and leave us alone. Never in the history of the world have we seen that policy work out well for anyone, but maybe it is because they did not have Obama as their leader. That should make all of the difference.
