Does anybody besides me think it's a little odd that many of Obama's appointees seem to be of questionable character?....Coincidence?....Poor judgement?
Since this is an MSNBC report it most likely has been sanitized to soften any damage to their boy Obama...They've pretty much been in his corner all along.FBI makes arrest at D.C. government office
Obama administration recently tapped office chief Kundra for new role

Feds raid D.C. tech offices
Federal agents have reportedly raided the offices of the Washington, D.C., chief technology officer stemming from an apparent ongoing corruption investigation. NBC’s Pete Williams reports.
MSNBC
updated 6:25 p.m. ET, Thurs., March. 12, 2009
WASHINGTON - A District of Columbia employee and a technology consultant were charged with corruption Thursday after a raid on the former office of a city official who now works for President Barack Obama.
The charges were formalized in a federal court hearing as the FBI finished searching the city's technology office, which was led until recently by Obama's new computer chief, Vivek Kundra.
Yusuf Acar, the acting chief security officer in the city's technology office, was ordered held without bond pending a hearing Tuesday. Prosecutors said $70,000 in cash was found during a search of Acar's Washington home and that he posed a serious flight risk.
Technology consultant Sushil Bansal of Dunn Loring, Va., was released but was ordered not to conduct overseas financial transactions or leave the Washington metropolitan area. Bansal is due back in court on April 21, and prosecutors said they were hopeful that a plea agreement could be reached in his case.
Acar worked under Kundra, Obama's pick to coordinate federal computer systems. Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs would not say whether the White House knew the investigation was under way when it named Kundra last week, but called the case "a serious matter."
Acar, a 40-year-old native of Turkey, had a $127,468-a-year position purchasing the city's computer equipment and lining up contract workers for numerous city agencies, according to court documents.
Schemes and 'ghost' contracts
Authorities say Acar and Bansal, along with others, defrauded the government through a variety of schemes, including billing the city for items that were never delivered and "ghost" contract employees who did not work. The scheme involved Acar approving falsified bills and splitting the money with vendors including Bansal, who submitted them, court documents alleged.
Bansal, a native of India who turns 42 next week, is a former city employee and the founder and chief executive of Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp. The company has offices in Washington and India and did more than $13 million in business with the District of Columbia government in the past five years, according to court documents.
One contract involved providing computer support for the city's Department of Motor Vehicles. The company also was given a contract to upgrade the city's human resources computer records and sold virus detection software to the city.
In August Bansal was named entrepreneur of the year by the Association of Indians in America.
An FBI affidavit supporting the arrest warrants indicates that several other businesses and individuals were involved in the alleged schemes, but the other people are identified only by their initials.
The FBI worked with another employee in the city's technology office, who was in on the scheme and secretly recorded conversations with Acar and Bansal as part of the investigation.
In 2007, federal investigators uncovered a massive embezzlement scheme in the city's tax office.
Men and women dressed in suits and wearing latex gloves could be seen entering and leaving the glass-enclosed lobby of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer on Thursday afternoon.
Gibbs said the Justice Department notified lawyers of the search before hand. But another White House spokesman, Ben LaBolt, later said the department didn't give the White House a heads-up.
Even as the raid was taking place, Kundra was giving a speech at FOSE, an annual government technology expo. Kundra said part of his focus is to change the way the government buys technologies from vendors.

Wow, BHO's character could be in question here? Who would have thought? From all that I heard during the election, any attempts to judge his character or his judgement based on his relationships was just people trying to change the subject from what he was saying.
Sounds like they might have been on to something.

They cant even recognize that one of the main reasons they are having a hard time filling some of the positions because President Obama has put limits on what people can do during and after they take the positions.
Its his stand on lobbying that is keeping some people away from the positions.

So even if they don't pay their taxes, they can still be appointed if they pay them at the last minute?

He is less likely to do it again which is more reason its hard to fill positions that have been going to bankers and lobbyist for most of the last 30 years.
Im fine with a critical analysis of the politicians but Im also aware of how many of the right will do just about anything to see him fail.

How about his appointees who got big bonuses working for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?
And how many appointees were there that owed back taxes?
This thread is because of the unprecedented number of problems with appointees.

I found this interesting. Obama taking all the blame on his shoulders, while maintaning his innocence. Effectively symbolizing himself as the suffering Messiah - the man without sin taking on all the sins of mankind.
Obama Accepts Blame for AIG Bonuses
"Washington is all in a tizzy and everybody is pointing fingers at each other and saying it's their fault, the Democrats' fault, the Republicans' fault," he said at a town hall meeting Wednesday. "Listen, I'll take responsibility. I'm the President."
He also make clear that it isn't really his fault. "We didn't grant these contracts," he said.
But he added: "So for everybody in Washington who's busy scrambling, trying to figure out how to blame somebody else, just go ahead and talk to me, because it's my job to make sure that we fix these messes, even if I don't make them."

Are you for real? You cannot be as stupid as you post. But tell you what, here is an idea.
The major problem suffered by individuals is the lost of their jobs, would you agree? If we could get people back to work, that would most likely help stimulate the economy, correct? And if he fostered in environment where they could actually work and maintain a job, long term (and not just until the new bus stop with some congressmans name on it is finished), the economy might pick up.
So my suggestion is that we create an atomosphere that would attract buisness's to invest and produce products that could be sold. In order to do that, we need to make it easier to do buisness. Therefore, if we CUT the corporate tax rate, lowered the capital gains taxes and reduced (if not REMOVED) the minimum wage, those with funds to invest may actually choose to invest in buisneses that had a chance to return a profit for their investment.
What we DON'T need is the government picking the winners and losers in this environment by granting bailouts or subsides to those buisnesses that are towing the flavor of the day populist line. Let buisness prosper by taking advantage of the free market (something we have not seen in this country in close to 100 yrs).
But that would actually require liberals to become producers instead of sitting by taking advantage of the government confiscating the assets of those that are producing and distributing to those that are too lazy to work for a living.

So your solution for the current economic situation is to let the fat cats skim off and manipulate even more wealth while at the same time screwing the real producers, the workers, by lowering their wages?

You lefties just are so anti-capitalist that you would slit your own thoats to prove a point. At least you have that conviction.
I don't know about you, but it is quite apparent that discouraging buisness and investment will do nothing but drive them elsewhere. But as long as you have the government to bail you out, you believe you will be ok.
Problem is, once all the capital and buisness leave for greener pastures, who will the government confiscate money from?

Isn't that how most communist revolutions started?

No most communist revolutions started because the rich had way to much power over the masses and they were treating them like property. Of course most often the Rich have been the ones that represented government especially in the aristocratic societies of Russia, China. Hell even Cuba was fighting over the fact that a small group of people controlled everything and were treating the masses as if they were property.
The lesson to be learned and Republicans seem to have forgotten this is either keep the masses contented or you will loose their ire. Which is of course why republicans are now out of power.

So the Democrats keep the masses contented by stealing from the rich to give to the poor, until there's no more money for anybody but the government.

And look at us now, huge debt expenditures on welfare, failed mortgages, and banking without little or no thought to job creation. The first big bill contains almost 9,000 earmarks. We have went from the fleecing of America to the total ass rape of America just 2 months into Obama's term.
