Polling data show that Mr. Obama's approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001. Rasmussen Reports data shows that Mr. Obama's net presidential approval rating -- which is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove from the number who strongly approve -- is just six, his lowest rating to date.

Big deal.

Obama is the president BECAUSE of George Bush .. irrespective of where Bush's numbers were at this stage.

The poll is very thin and, in my opinion, asks the wrong questions as to why his numbers are dropping.

Other polls show if there is a decline, it is dropping down because Republicans are abandoning him, not independents and democrats.

Strategists knew Republican Obama support would eventually retreat back to their historical levels. Its really not news for serious people. Its more of a poll geared towards the laymen.
