It was so easy for Obama to just veto the bill and remove the earmarks. It was a complete win situation for him, but instead he let it slide. I agree that this wasn't the single most important thing on the planet, however, it's all about changing the way we view politics in America. This was a no brainer, this would have been the first bit of "change" that everyone would have been behind, even Obama's harshest critics would have had to give him a pat on the back for it, but he dropped the ball.

America basically has had a miserable foreign policy that's only damaged America. Just think, if we didn't spend massive amounts of money in nation building other countries, could we afford healthcare? Yes. Could we afford a litany of other social programs? Yes. Also, we can provide them and still reduce the size of government, balance the budget, and reduce our deficit.

The heart of America's demise at the moment is our foreign policy, this insane notion of ideological imperialism and spreading democracy is a costly endeavor with almost no tangible benefits.

You seem to have forgotten part of the truth or you're just parroting again. The bill is as disgusting as all the recent defense spending bills that are filled with pork from both parties.

Obama should have vetoed the billed. Then he would be accused of not moving fast enough on the stimulus bill.

You might want to stop playing partisan politics and look at the real information instead of listening to the pundits. The facts are there. the pork is pretty evenly split. When you look at the Senate and the per capita it $$$ it seems a little weighted in the direction that partisan hacks and pundits won't mention.
