Tancredo Says Jindal’s Speech Was The ‘Last Nail In The Coffin’ For His Presidential Ambitions
Obviously Tancredo knows a lot about dead presidential campaigns but I don't think it was that bad. A man that lies and talks to Americans as if they were children should do quite well with the sheep. :)
Mr. Rogers and The Tax Cheat for 2012 :) or was it the other way around?

Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) has been heralded as everything from the next Barack Obama to the next Ronald Reagan. As the GOP searches for a new leader, Jindal is seen by some conservatives as their best hope of capturing the White House in 2012. But Jindal’s abysmal response to Obama’s address to the nation on Tuesday has been ridiculed by commentators across the political spectrum, raising doubts about his 2012 ambitions.
Stepping up in Jindal’s defense yesterday, Rush Limbaugh warned his fellow conservatives yesterday not to say negative things about Jindal. “Those of you who think Jindal was horrible….I don’t ever want to hear from you ever again,” he said.
One Republican who isn’t heeding Limbaugh’s warnings is the anti-immigrant zealot and former congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO). In an interview with ThinkProgress at the CPAC conference today, Tancredo declared that Jindal’s speech marks the end of his presidential ambitions:
TP: [Jindal] has gotten some flack for his performance on the response to Obama. I’m curious what your thoughts on it was.
TANCREDO: Great content. Lousy delivery. And I’m sorry to say this because I like him a lot. I served with him. Good guy. Solid guy. But I think that performance would very well have put the last nail in the coffin for him, for running for president. Mostly because what we are desperately looking for today in this party is a leader. Bobby Jindal is a great intellect, but his capacity to lead just is, his bearing, is not there. At least, it wasn’t there.

“I’m not saying he can’t overcome it, but I’m telling you it’s a major obstacle now. And I’m sorry about that,” Tancredo said. “In this business, often times you need more sizzle than steak.”

Jindal was never in the presidential realm of possibilities in my book. Maybe in 12 years from now but I doubt people would like him. He's young and naive, maybe a Veep spot in 2012. Jindal used outdated tactics that failed to sway his audience. He spoke to fast which gave the appearance that he was forcing the issues without meaningful facial gestures as he read from the teleprompter. He looked like a robot at times. I wouldn't vote for him.
Rush Limbaugh thinks he runs the party, he just blew his biggest gaspe of wind with nothing meaningful to stop people from talking badly about Jindal. In fact his denial encourages debate. Conservatives don't need a gasbag to tell them how to think I hope they give Rush an earful.

Do i hear the chattering of rattling bones of the intellectually lifeless?
GOP = Ghouls & Other Parasites.
They are just completely empty & intellectually bankrupt,
& if you follow their treacherous advice you will end up financially bankrupt as well.

Jindal did suck and I think he's not going anywhere other than governor, vp, senator, or cabinet position later. I don't really see anyone at the moment that really sparks much interest on the Republican side. Doesn't mean they won't put up a decent candidate, but at the moment none look all that good.

The final nail in the coffin is insufficient.
What you really need is a large wooden stake driven through the heart to finally kill them to save decent people everywhere.

So Tancredo admits it.
It's all about style, not substance.

Republicans don't want substance they just want style.
giftwrapped shit,
it may stink, but it just looks so good . . .
Republicanism is directly attributable to contagious brain rot disease.

Well, that's my point - the Democrats (and media) focus on style, as the original post shows.

It wasn't a lack of style that caused the global banking collapse,
it was style without substance.
OUCH! that has got to hurt. lol

Cut him some slack. His response had substance if nothing else. A groomed
public speaker he is not but weve already got the consummate Pied Piper and
I could do with some sincerity in lieu of presentation.
I must admit though, that I went to bed listening to the radio and fell asleep
quickly when he started speaking.
He is definitely on the right track in his position of governor and isnt afraid
to tell it like it is. I hope to see him do well in the future. I think he was
the sacrificial lamb in this instance. I would have preferred our new chairman. Now that would have been awesome!

Wouldn't it be amazing if the GOP went with substance rather than style for a change?
Not holding my breath waiting. lol

I like the fact that Jindal is a reformer who has avoided the scandalous ways of LA. Jindal is pursueing corruption so he's going in the right direction. Maybe in 10 years he'll be presidential. Jindal was on 60 Minutes Sunday telling CBS that he wasn't ready to run for a higher office. Jindal turned down McCain's offer to submit his name for consideration for the Veep slot. Jindal wants to continue fixing problems in LA. It will take more than one term to fix the problems there.
Here's the Jindal interview video if you didn't see it.

Jindal is a work in progress, he can be a voice for the GOP and he should be someone others should model themselves after. I'll keep an eye on him, his response had substance but it didn't inspire me to think he's' ready for the big circus in DC.

Hes definitely taking the job that he asked for seriously. Unlike so many
professional politicians, he isnt using his governorship to further his political
aspirations. I think hes really an honorable man and he cares about his state.
I think he is great raw material and is an example of a true public servant.
Too bad the others dont get a clue.

Rush is empty style.
Jindal appears to be substantial.
(in direct counter to Rush's substantial obese girth & Jindal's much slimmer frame)
