I freekin love MMA, as far as I'm concerned it's the only sport worth watching.
All other sports are for girls, little stylized ballets with toy balls.

yeah I can't even watch NFL anymore unless The Pack or the pathetic home team Cardinals make it on to tv :D
finally geting some of these matchups to see who really is "the best" is gonna make for some great PPV... and get ready to pay out your ass for it too :D
I can see it already: a cut down from the 5 fights on the last PPV to 2 fighs and a $69.95 price tag
wouldn't it be cool to solve "worldy disputes" with MMA bouts? imagine how good those fights would be! the training some countries would put into their fighters would be off the charts, and you would have to take away the rounds and judges, there would have to be a clear winner...

UFC / MMA, etc just killed boxing for me completely. I just can't watch boxing anymore, it's painfully boring...also when I'm all liquored up and angry I'll do my "Don King destroyed boxing" rant.

right on, what is his name if you want to say, how long ago did he fight?
I've met a few of the bigger UFC stars while hanging out in Vegas... Tito, Keith Jardine, literally bumped in to Dana White once...
oh and welcome to Junkies :)

I am in to MMA as well. Recently started training with a focus on MT and some BJJ. I want to encorporate wrestling and boxing as well.
I am lucky enough to live near some of the best schools in Team Quest and now former UFC fighter Gerald Strebendt has a school in town. I met Randy in about 1997 or so when he was fighting in the UFC.

yeah i screw around just to stay in shape with mma stuff... can't wait to see some of the fights coming up, i wanna see if Randy can hold on to the belt, see if Hendo can knock Rampage out, Chuck was supposed to fight Wandy Silva but the fight fell thru once again and the back n forth name calling is going on again and all the fans lose out, I guess the Iceman is now gonna fight Keith Jardine for his next fight in sept.
GSP is probably my favorite fighter I am looking forward his fight with Josh Koschek too it should be a good matchup

I haven't been happy at all with the performances of the pride guys. There is a huge problem with them coming to a drug tested organization & fighting in a cage instead of a ring. Cro cop losing was kind of a fluke, yet Gonzaga earned the win. The others, especially Herring and even Nog, just haven't stepped up to what people expect.
If it wasn't for Rampages KO over Chuck and A. Silva destroying Leben, Franklin and the marquardt, casual fans would think pride wasn't nearly as elite as it was.
I have been watching Jardine for a few years now, since he first was in KOTC. I have always been impressed and liked him, but he seems to stay stagnant and never really improve. He is kind of a lamb to the slaughter with Chuck, but i hope he pulls of a dramatic upset.
I mainly lift weights and do boxing/striking for conditioning and fun. I can't let myself get into grappling too much because a. i'm extremely claustrophobic and b. i tore my rotator cuff 2 years ago and never had it repaired. I'm too afraid of getting pt in an omoplata, armbar and especially a kimura.
Plus theres just something about knocking someone out that makes it worth it lol.

P.S i think Hendo is one of the baddest dudes around and think he could beat Rampage in a great fight, despite weighing 12 pounds less. Hopefully we get to see him, lindland and fedor all fight in the states someday.

yeah I was so excited when one of the Fertita bros bought Pride but it has been anti-clamatic to this point, i guess the Japanese owners ran it into the ground and it has been a pain in the ass to get the fighters in the Octagon :(
if the rumors are right Shogun is gonna fight Forest Griffin at 76, the cards are slowly starting to look better on paper, Franklin vs Anderson Silva 2 should be a much better fight than the first one
looks like 75 is gonna be free on Spike again, the 2 scheduled fights (http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=eventDetail.FightCard&eid=758) listed are ones I can't wait to see, nothing better than free PPV
