It's kind of amusing that some here still refuse to acknowledge President Bush's and the US military's accomplisments and still believe there is war going on , wishfull thinking I guess.

Iraq Recedes From Brink of Genocide

"Preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn't a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there... There's no doubt there are risks of increased bloodshed in Iraq without a continuing U.S. presence there."

Barack Obama
July 19, 2007 (http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/05/barack-obama-for-genocide-before-he-was.html)

But, today Iraq is one genocide that wasn't (http://freekorea.us/2009/02/01/one-genocide-that-wasnt/).

Today there is Victory in Iraq (http://www.zombietime.com/vi_day/).
Today there is democracy in Iraq (http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/01/thank-you-us-military-for-your.html).
No thanks to Barack Obama or fellow Democrats.

Iraqi school children, sporting new backpacks given out by coalition forces, pose for their picture on Oct. 9, 2008, in Al Haay, Iraq. The event was part of Al Haay Day, which encompassed a medical evaluation, Iraqi press conference, school book distribution and Joint Security Station site assessment, all of which helped to establish coalition presence in Al Haay. Pass out some new backpacks to the slobbering masses to help them forget about their aunts and/or uncles getting their heads blown off by these very same people. The US controls all of these people now, to believe otherwise is just living in ignorant bliss.

Do you really think evaporating whole bloodlines was worth this facsimile of freedom?

It's understandable that your hatred for my President takes priority over truth , logic and reason but the fact remains , the war is definetly over and it as you see it was a huge success , and the US in no way shape or form has any say in how the Iraqi government is run.

The only reason the US is still in Iraq is to ensure that the ones who did actually wipe entire bloodlines as you claim stay gone and dont' come back.

Frank, I think the only denial keeps coming when costs and time frames for the war are mentioned. So far we haven't had anyone support the amount of money that we've spent on the war.

If the war is over then why do we need so many troops there and why is our military still fighting?

If the war is over then Iraq can fend for themselves. The Sons Of Iraq are so strong that we had to start paying them in order to keep them from attacking us.

How much money is it worth Frank?

There are probably some insurgent groups that are waiting for day when US troops leave Iraq which why we can't just withdraw the troops all at once rather , leave slowly and in the meantime keep training and improving the Iraqi security force , of course this costs money but I look it this way , if Al Gore had won the 2000 election he wouldn't have invaded Afganistan , he would'nt have invaded Iraq, Saddam along with Amadinajad would both be theatening the US with nukes and Al-queda would be 10 times as strong as they are right now.

Are you saying that we won the war already? When did that occur?

What cost is worth it?

Oh come on SirMoby , you're screwin with me, right ?

For the 200th time...

Technically , we won the war when we captured Bagdad and disbanded the Iraqi Army. It was mission accomplished however ,what the Bush administration and the Pentagon failed to plan on was the insurgency which actually took more American lives than the invasion itself, maybe this is the way Saddam planned it , who knows. In any event we trained the Iraqi Army and defeated the insurgents and Al-Qeada.

Sirmoby can't stay on subject, he's a radical neocon loone who voted for Obama the new neocon Potus. For the next 4 years Sirmoby is a neocon!! Your thread said nothing about winning the war. Too bad he can't comment honestly on the merits of the article posted. We've done some good work in Iraq and the neocon moderator refuses to openly discuss the triumph of our military. I say hats off the the coalition forces!!! Humanity deserves a chance.
