Bad idea considering Putin sailed the fleet to Havana and ChevezLand recently.

What Obama should do is practice what all politicians preach! We are always telling nations to continue friendly relations with neighboring nations. We tell enemy nations to open up and establish friendly dialog. But do we do it with out closest neighboring enemy nation.......nope, not in the last 50 years. Neither dems nor reps have ever cared to open dialog and establish relations leading towards estabishing trade with Cuba as well as medical sales, industry establishment and travel rights.

Maybe Obama can avoid a Bay of Pigs 2.0? It all depends on how Russia reacts to future troop movements towards Iran and even Pakistan. Better to make friends than sit back and let Vladimir do it first!!!:D

Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro demanded on Thursday that President Barack Obama return the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo to Cuba without conditions, and he accused the new U.S. leader of supporting "Israeli genocide" against Palestinians.

Castro, who had recently praised Obama as "honest" and "noble", lashed out at his administration for stating that Washington will not return Guantanamo if it has any military use for the United States and without concessions in return.

"Maintaining a military base in Cuba against the will of the people violates the most elemental principles of international law," Castro wrote in a column posted on the government-run website www.cubadebate.cu.

Yeah, the crowning touch on the Obama Legacy - a major Russian Naval Base 90 miles off Florida.

Now that's change!

AT least we wouldn't have to go so far to sink the Russian Navy

LOL, yepper, if he doesn't act we could see a Russian Navy base and God
knows what else. Clinton closed military bases in FL and scaled back others. That bad idea shall become Clinton and Obama's achilles heel.

If we had Russian missile-firing frigates, cruisers and subs in Cuba .... they'd never even need to leave port to fire missiles, with a 5 minute flight time.

We'd never really know for sure what they had there, except for ships and surface structures.

Yep, I've got to go out and load up on more goods, medical supplies, canned goods, matches etc. This summer I'm ordering more wood for the fireplace. I'm hitting lots of dollar stores and stocking up on things I feel are important and necessary to have. I can get a lot of medicines there cheap. Any special meds I'll have to go elsewhere. I'm not worried about weapons or ammo. That's all been taken care of. Stock up on canned meats etc. At one of our dollar stores around here they have a whole chicken in a can for $3, and it tastes awesome.

I'm surpised no dems are participating on this thread. I'll assume they prefer we lose Cuba to Russia or they are still mad over the Bay of Pigs.:lmao2:
