The Obama Bargain
Mr. Obama has said of himself, "I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views . . ." And so, human visibility is Mr. Obama's Achilles heel. If we see the real man, his contradictions and bents of character, he will be ruined as an icon, as a "blank screen."

Watch for this over the next few years, slowly becoming more apparent as time goes by.

No, this scenario is based on his success.
At least some waited until he sworn in. Smurf held off all comments about deficits until this week. That's much better then Limbaugh who was blaming Hilary first and then Obama for the recession.

He ends up becoming a megalomaniac, when faced with threats to his power he can't control; after having gotten so much his own way.
Just one of the many possibilities.
But the fact remains, he wants to be a "blank screen", so he can pretend to be whatever he thinks people expect to see ... not knowing the real BO behind the mask.

So america is now a sailboat that goes wherever the wind blows?
Does that work with the largest force or the loudest voice?

Smurf, think about the mentality of people that want to be President of the USA. Sure it pays $400k for life but a leader of a bank can make far more then that. Most Presidents will work constantly. Even Bush spent more time working then the average corporate leader and he spent more time on vacation then any President in history.
People that want to be President want "power". Some want power for greed and money. Others want it for sex ;) Some want it to control the lives of others and some have the dreams of Murdoch and Kristol.
Power for money and sex can be gotten through other means so I don't really buy it. All that's left is either ego or to control the lives of others (Kristol).
I'd be happy if the President is only doing it for ego.
not knowing the real BO behind the mask.
Do you think that you've ever known any politician?
Do you think you know Brad Pitt?
Come on Smurf, you'll have plenty of time to find things to dislike about Obama. Why not wait until you have something of interest ;)

A tax cheat that came up with the bailout everybody's complaining has no oversight becoming Treasury Secretary isn't something worthy enough for you.
You're looking more and more like a brainless lemming.

But of course giving the money to George W. Bush and Paulsen was smart? Do you think there's a big difference Mr. Lemming?
I'm not saying that Obama is a trustworthy politician but if you looked at the past you'd see a much longer record of ripping people off of some others in the past. Being upset over one and not the other is exactly the sheep mentality that got us in this situation.
Way to go Mr. Lemming.
Remember, I'm not supporting one on these issue and not the other. That's what the pundits have convince you to do.

At the time it first broke as a national emergency it wasn't that obvious that this money would not be accounted for in any way, or that the architect of the plan couldn't be trusted not to cheat on his own taxes.

Obama wants to hear from everyone so to speak, he wants input and he wants to give all political parties an opportunity to speak thier minds and provide input. Then he will go the route he wants to regardless of who disagrees. Most think BO is a centrist, he's shaping up more like a moderate with some far-left values too. Obama will give the parties a voice but he will not sway his opinion, Obama is gioing to play the masses in DC and go his own route. If happens to agree with advice given its only because the advice is what he wants to hear.
Remember BO is an enigma to all, even those who voted for him = a blank slate. Obama has NPD, all presidents have it to certain degree, yet most have never considered the notion that NPD will lead Obama far more than all the political advice. The man wants to hear from all, but he is nobody's lap dog therefore at times he will be unpredictable. Obama has an advanced form of narcissistic personality disorder no doubt.
Look up this word........Tabula Rasa........many tabula rasa's put BO in office thinking he was more like them. BO has some things in common with Bush and the neocons. His inauguration speech revealed the tough neocon like mentality.
Obama's pre 9/11 Bush like words>>> “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.”

He's the quintessential politician. The ultimate smooth-talker and charmer. A cult hero to the disenfranchised.
That's why he's so potentially dangerous.

BO is defintely unpredictable. The military are questioning his
motives quietly, yet he appears to have half of the people believing
in him. But they cannot give detailed analysis of what BO will do. Just ask
any supporter on this site, they can't give details because BO has yet to
give full details. Even when he does, many will follow him blindly. BO is
no Bill Clinton, I doubt he ever will be. A one term potus!!

2 weeks plus in office and Obama has already caved in to the far-left demands for everything including the kitchen sink. I think democrats should have thier taxes raised to pay for the additional debt Obama is going to bloat the economy with. I'll pay my share up to January 20th. Let the dems flip the Bill for the excess pork because they are getting the government they voted for.
