I've stumbled on this. It's very lengthy, but quite interesting to say the least and I haven't even finished reading it myself as yet. I wanted to pass it along and find out what you think of it.

Bush revealed some details of the COG program of bunkers where polticians and bureacrats would run the country if the country were attacked. Locations are spread out around DC and around the country.

The Constitution Society created details which outline the COG, I learned about this in the Navy. To restore order after an attack we needed a central paln to re-establish communication with government and military agencies as well as connections to the media and the people. It ain't just Groom Lake (Area 51), secret defense projects are spread out around the country and in other countries. Some say area 51 has been scaled down and projects have been moved to other locations. Popular Mechanics magaine has discussed this for several years. We'll never a get a straight answer because black hole projects are meant to be a secret till proven reliable and ready for production. Or are they secret so they can be used secretly? Depends on whom you ask.

Area 51 has moved projects to various locations to better protect national security secrets. Google details on San Nicolas Island, Green River Complex, Site S4 and Area 6413 just to name a few, as well as Alice Springs Australia.

UTAH'S GREEN RIVER COMPLEX CALLED NEW AREA 51
A remote Army facility in eastern Utah was called "the New Area 51" in Popular Mechanics Magazine's June cover story. According to the magazine, the Green River Complex, along with Michael Air Field at Dugway Proving Ground, may become an aviation test complex, replacing the overpublicised Groom Lake base known as "Dreamland" and "Area 51."

SNI is a Navy owned and operated facility used as an instrumentation site. SNI is the cornerstone in the Sea Range capabilities because of its land mass and depth of surrounding waters. The main support facilities include a 10,000 foot runway, an air terminal, housing, a power plant, a fuel farm and other necessary base support functions.

According to Wilson the "New Area 51" will be based at an
extension of the White Sands Missile Range complex at White
Sands Utah. Wilson says the new base has been dubbed "Area
6413" by the Air Force. Wilson states that launches of a new secret
spy/spaceplane will take place at White Sands, Utah with the craft
landing at Michael AAF about 200 miles away.

Rumors also abound about a new "Area 51" located in the isolated
Australian outback near Alice Springs,close to a known CIA
listening post. Australian air traffic controllers report tracking very
high-speed aircraft flying out of the area . Civilian Aussie pilots
report finding a secret airstrip, painted to look like dirt and almost
impossible to spot by air or ground. How did they find it? When
military aircraft approach ,water sprinklers wet the strip so it stands
out from the terrain. At night the strip employs an infrared lighting
system only visible with night vision goggles.

In any event, chances are that Area 51 has not closed and will be
used as a secret test facility for years to come. If there is any slow
down at Area 51, it is not because that the facility is being
abandoned, but because of the natural progression of projects from
test to operational status. Sources inside Groom Lake say testing
continues on the development of new stealth aircraft ( manned and
unmanned) invisibility systems, recon systems and other covert
technologies deemed vital to national security.

Don't waste your time looking for Area 6413 on a map. It doesn't
exist ( officially or unofficially) What does exist ( on aviation flight
maps) is R-6413, restricted air space that keeps civilian aircraft
from wandering into a missile launch zone.

And a story back in the mid-nineties about Clinton's Marine One Helicopter crash, where the pilot was fried, like a baked potato. Some sort of beam weapon test accident.
