I don't even think democrats are all too happy about this pick and I honestly don't think this is a good pick, especially considering what's going on in the world at the moment.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Barack Obama's decision to fill the nation's top intelligence jobs with two men short on direct experience in intelligence gathering surprised the spy community and signaled the Democrat's intention for a clean break from Bush administration policies.
Former Clinton White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, an eight-term congressional veteran and administrative expert, is being tapped to head the CIA.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who will chair the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Monday she was surprised by the pick, and neither was informed nor consulted.

Dianne Feinstein will probably demand a gun free CIA. :lmao2:
This "out of touch with reality" bitch is a fucking joke herself.

Panetta dropped the ball on Bin Laden in the 90s, as Chief of Staff; and has no direct intelligence experience. He'd be just a figurehead.

Some day (probably never) there may be a President who actually uses some common sense and reaches down in the CIA and grabs a person with actual field experience, who is respected by the troops, and has the balls to do things in the style of Wild Bill Donovan, and put him in charge and then let him actually run a spy agency.

Oh my god, what a wonderful Idea, Now that would be real change. I wonder if our new President has thought of this? He said he's real big on change.

What I don't understand about Obama is, he's all over the map with appointees. A lot of ex-Clinton people, then guys like Gates and Jim Jones who really know their stuff and are centrist to hawkish, then people with somewhat shady connections or left-wing history, then some for ethnicity, others for loyalty ............ it seems like there's no consistency.
The only conclusion I can come to is, in some areas in government he wants people to run the show for him, while in others he wants people who will just be figureheads and do what they're told; and in others there's a shared agenda. That's only my first impression. We'll have to see how things actually unfold after they all get in.

Maybe the main qualification for a CIA Director should be someone who actually had to kill another human being up close and personal so that he knows what it really is like to work the field.

From what I'm getting, it's - Panetta will ensure the CIA implements Obama's "changes" to be more politically correct.

My guess domestic terrorism the next war. Time to get out of iraq and start making sure Americans support his change.
