The Obama Team did a really good job at vetting Richardson, didn't they.

I can't wait to see what the next big surprise is.

Well, if he's corrupt, he should be investigated, tried, and punished to the full extent of the law.

Corruption is the biggest enemy of this country. Even tho it's the way things are done in the country we've created.

I believe all politicians are corrupt - and all politicians should be under 24/7 investigation.

Too bad tho - he was the most progressive member of the team. Opposed to the national disgrace of the drug war, and very experienced.

Just for the record, I've never thought of Richardson as being corrupt ......... just extremely incompetent when it came to Chinese spies at Los Alamos, during Clinton's term.

I'm just really surprised Obama's team didn't pick this up, in what was publicized as supposedly being an intensive vetting process for anyone who would be working for his administration.

I'll be really disappointed if Richardson is corrupt, actually more surprised than disappointed, I just didn't think he was the type.

Why wouldn't Richardson be corrupt in some way or another? We have the Patriot Act and the DOJ which will continue to catch anyone it's used against for at least a few more months.

If he fucked up he needs to go.

Would it really be that bad if we went back to the Clinton era? I mean decreases in unemployment, paying our bills like responsible adults and having increases in median income? How fucking terrible that would be.

Oh, SH, dont you realize that the promised land is at hand? Theres a not
quite white guy ready to step into the highest position in the land! Hes
never held a position where he would have to actually set policy for the
economy, but hey, hes gonna do it now. Rays of light will be emitting form
the WH, the angels will sing and we can all drink Kook Aid to our hearts
content and live like never before.....OMG....thats what scares me.

Hey, who says we cant return to the land of Klintonia? Why not? Were
gonna have all his cabinet. What could stop us??? What could possibly
stop us? Reckon global economic collapse? Or just the collapse of the
dollar and the country that had grown to be so great that most of the
rest of the world would do anything to get in here....legally or illegally.
But then, arent we the "ugly Americans", so hated and reviled by the
rest of the world? Theres a paradox. A love/hate thing going on.

It must be pretty bad for Richardson to tuck tail and run away from
the promised land and the WH. This is gonna be good.

Yes but some of the same people that brought us those results might be able to bring us similar results again.

The Bush administration brought us another financial scam, higher unemployment and more debt just like his daddy did so maybe some of the people that brought us improvements in American might be able to do it again.

If we give people that fucked up America a chance to do it again why not give people that improved things a chance as well?

The same people who gave China our nuclear secrets and a 30 year jump in missile technology?

The same people who gave us an unverifiable nuclear deal with North Korea?

The same people who let AQ Kahn sell his nuclear technology to Iran, after Pakistan went nuclear on their watch?

The same people who treated Al-Qaeda attacks as a law enforcement problem?

The same people who took illegal campaign contributions from agents of the Chinese government?

The same people who had shady dealings with the Lippo Group?

The same people who created rendition?

The same people who put US troops in Somalia, then made them run away?

Yeah Baby, I'm feeling Randy!

I'm planning a big party for Dec. 21, 2012 ... for the Obama-lypse fireworks

HT, the excuse I've been seeing, after they all wanted him because of change has been, "What do you expect, all politicians are the same." So why the hell were they pushing change? ........... because they're natural-born hypocrites, who are constantly changing the rules of the game; as if we have no memory.

Hey, watch this ...... SM will want me to prove it. As if I'm going to browse through all the obscure threads on this board to try and pinpoint something she said in a thread on an entirely different topic five months ago.

Its going to be so entertaining to watch. We already know what a hell hole
we are in....it will be a cold shock of reality when the others catch on.
We can sit back and watch and occasionally toss in "told ya so"! Weve

Kinda makes you wonder what else they missed durign the "intensive" vetting process. We already know his AG pick was behind the Marc Rich pardoning & Hillary is connected to a slew of scandals.

I heard of a similar thing with Hillary that's like Richardson, somewhat. Someone contributed money to Bill's foundation, then she as a Senator helped pass legislation that somehow favored their corporation. But it's seriously being downplayed and ignored by virtually all media.

I assume you mean This (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28485901) story.

And going back to Richardson's problem, it seems Obama's got a bigger connection:

The political donor at the center of a corruption investigation that scuttled Bill Richardson's Cabinet nomination gave $28,500 to President-elect Barack Obama and the Democratic Party in September, one month after the existence of the investigation was already public, records show.
