I just saw the intial report on Fox, about Israeli tanks repositioning into columns on the border and artillery taking out suspected mine fields in their path.
More details will follow with a live on-location report in the coming hour.

Yeah, I heard about that last night but there's not much print about it.

It's all within the last couple hours. Fox appears to be the only network with newspeople on the scene and live pictures. It takes a while to write it up and get it online, for the regular news agencies.
Leaflets have been dropped on Gaza City. Infantry is moving along the border as well, with flares being dropped. The last report had a large bomb going off, laying smoke; apparently as visual cover for an advance.

Witnesses in Gaza are reporting Israeli ground forces crossing the border, near the town of Bethleheil (not sure of spelling). Apparently the Associated press is confirming, but I haven't found the story online yet.

Israeli ground forces enter Gaza in escalation
Israel's military says ground forces are crossing the Gaza border in an escalation of Israel's week-old offensive against the territory's militant Hamas rulers.
Israeli TV channels are broadcasting images of troops marching into Gaza after nightfall. The military confirmed a ground operation was under way.
Defense officials say around 10,000 soldiers have massed along the border in recent days.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
http://www.kansascity.com/837/story/963071.html
Fox is reporting that Israeli ground units have made contact with Hamas forces and have engaged.
And all over the world shopkeepers and shoemakers and factory workers are sending money to their local terrorist leaders in response.
And raghead boys are dreaming of the day they get to kill an israeli in revenge.
And the long wars of the 21st century continue. With peace nowhere in sight.
I'll bet the hezbos are grinning tonight.

I'd say Iran is definitely pleased tonight. I think this would delay or remove the Israel from acting on destroying Iran's nuke sites.
It's unfortunate as I believe the Palestinians are just pawns of other countries and they could find a peace with Israel if there wasn't outside influences involved.

I wonder why I heard about it the night before. Maybe I'm psychic?

Everybody expected it the night before.
Maybe you watch the news.
Are you saying you heard that troops crossed the border a day before they actually did?

Well, Ive been listening to radio (my bad) and heard how they are trying to
avoid collateral damage by sending cell messages and leaflets that they were
going to bomb an area! Of course since Hamas uses civilians as shields, guess
things arent going just as planned in that department.
I dont know who is right or who is wrong or if they both are wrong and need to
get with the program, but I DO REMEMBER the Palestinians celebrating when
our towers fell. Hmm.....guess maybe the other side is worth our support.

Heaven fordid!
It must blow SM's mind that people won't only listen to that bankrupt pay channel, that spawned Al Freakin. What was it, Airhead America?
The one that had the bad business model, because liberals would rather blog their conspiracy theories and only listen to music on the radio.
