It's obvious by now that Bush lies to get what he wants & when confronted with this fact, his response is " so what, what are you gonna do about it". The latest his increase in the surge, originally it was 20,000 now he wants more. Of course the reasons given initially to invade Iraq were lies.

Probably so, but Clinton lied a lot and I thought he was pretty good. I don't think lying is proportional to merit as a president.

Let me play devil's advocate just for the hell of it...I might just be shooting the breeze to put out another point of view.
So, why didn't the democrats stop him? They have the majority, they could have denied his request for more troops, they could have been forceful in setting a very speedy time table for removing the troops, but they didn't.
In fact the democrats have been pretty lame in doing anything against Bush even when they have the power to do so. The problem as I see it is the Democrats don't really want to stop Bush...they basically want to use him for good little spin clips on the news but they don't have balls enough to actually do anything real to stop him.
One would say that the Democrats lied to get elected and then once they got in they're playing this safe strategy of letting Bush continue on with little or no interference.

All questioners are idiots.
At least he has proven one of them is an idiot.
I for one will not respond until he puts enough effort into his garbage not to insult what passes for normal awareness.

MR Blue , you're right, the Dems do want to use Bush for thier benfit in '08, they don't have the votes to do what thier supporters want them to do yet at the same time I don't believe they want to bail him out on the war because Bush is a walking , talking billboard for why a Democrat should be elected in '08

I agree to some extent that they want to keep this as "Bush's Problem", but is that a wise thing to do? The Democrats have been losing because they have no plan other than saying the Republicans suck.
Now, okay, so the republicans suck, they state the obvious point, but still...Democrats don't have a plan of action. Leaders lead and people, regardless of how screwed the system is, will always vote for the man / woman with a plan...they won't vote for complainers.

Again we agree. I personally believe the Dems should pull the troops out & in '08 if America wants to go back to Iraq, they can elect a republican. But they"re on the inside, we're on the outside, which makes it frustrating at time.
