How long does Obama have to turn over 8 years of poor economic policy before he starts getting blamed by the average voter?

We're seeing the largest economic down turn in America in 4 generations (possibly history) and I believe a large part of it is the borrow and spend mentality of the current administration and supporters.

So Rush Limbaugh started blaming Obama months ago. Senior claims he's going to start blaming Obama on January 20. Frank says all bets are off on January 9, for some reason.

Reagan saw unemployment go from 7.5% to double digits 2.5 years in office but never took any blame for the continuing policies of Nixon, Ford, Carter that doubled unemployment during those 12 years. Reagan also had a balanced budget and consumers had money to spend.

We have massive deficits, massive debt, consumers owe more than they own for the first time in nearly 100 years.

How long does Obama get before he starts getting blamed for the Bush economy? 6 months, a year, as much time as Reagan?

We will all play the blame game along party lines, Hog, Chief, et al will blame Obama. You, and the rest will blame Bush.

We should be blaming the political system and the bipartisan effort to make sure the rich get richer, the poor stay poor, and destroy the middle class.

You guys will play right into their hands by keeping us divided with the blame game. The politicians love it, they could not be happier with their sheep.

What's really amazing here, is you seem to be more concerned about your Messiah getting "blammed" than you are of the financial crises that's coming head on at us.

Fuck Obama, what about the suffering this calamity is going to bring?......As usual, a liberal has his priorities all screwed up.

Clearly BO was for Freeloader USA because he wanted to loan money to every Tom, Dick and Rodney! ACORN was BO's contribution as well!!! Now he wants to bailout every company that begs for money. BO refused to back Bills that would curtail bank lending. McCain was for the Bills, go figure.

The market sold off on Super Wenesday, the day after the election, there was a message in that selloff...............were all fucked with bailout mania and the people just elected a man who wants to tax and spend like its the roaring 1920's. The Dem party destroyed the housing market, Bush and Reps didn't fight the Dems hard enough. The market sold off on Super Wednesday because the market knows how to threaten and bully politicians.

Where the Fuck was Hussein when real Americans begged for suport to investigate the wallstreets role with oil manipulation? BO never agreed to investigate wallstreet in 2004, 2005, 2006 and so on. We all got raped at the pump because we had no energy policy nor did we have a Democratic Majority that gave a flying fuck about the people from 2006 going forward. In fact Dems could have done something long before oil crossed above $75 but why would they care about anyone but themselves!!!

It's inevitable, therefore we can pretty much discount it.

Because the media controls the mind of the average american, and because education here is so poor, and respect for education so vastly poorer, and because all the politicians want to protect the corporations and the rich donors, it's inevitable that simplistic scenarios will dominate the american public debate.

And no politician can stop the reckoning for 30 years of bad choices.

Hoggy is an oracle that can look into his crystal bottle and foretell the future and Seedy can read the stock market like a gypsy looking in a cup of tea leaves. You two crack me up.

I pretty much agree with that. No matter how you slice it the parties are more concerned about "the party" then they are America.

As for the original thread topic. Obama basically has 4 years to at least stabilize the economy. Fuck the noise of people whining about who's fault it is, he just needs to get down to business, do what he has to, and just make sure there's some improvement before the end of his first term. Not an easy task, but I think he can do it if he doesn't get pulled into a political quagmire.

hannity commercials been on me television for weeks saying "you asked for it you got it with barack obama blah blah more taxes blah blah" he is gonna get cartered but good, the economy, the war, global warming, and cancer will be blamed on him i'd imagine

the best part of the commercial is hannity saying "me, rush, JD hayworth, we speak the language of truth and freedom"

You have to fact check Hannity some of the time. Circular rant with no new news kind of made him boring. Alan Colmes is leaving to pursue his own show. Or is he distancing himself from Hannity? After 12 years and this election in particular I'd want to broaden my horizons too.

So who will replace Colmes? I'm leaning towards Bob Becktel or Kirsten Powers. Both have bitten Hannity more than a few times.

Would be nice of Obama came out and said that things are very bad because of he, Bush, McCain, and all the others, that they all fucked up, and that he isn't going to be able to fix everything overnight. Unfortunately he has pretty much said he is going to go for quick fixes. Naturally when you make promises like this people are going to expect results and blame you if things do not turn around.

The power of the President is vastly overrated, we have our political system, not individual politicians to blame for all this. Most of you are smart enough to know this, won't stop you from blaming the other guy though.

It's not just a matter of education, as Bill was talking about, although ignorant masses is a huge problem, but people smart enough to know better lower themselves to the ignorant masses to join in the blame game.

Wouldn't it just be better to ignore Hannity all of the time? Even when has the facts straight, he's going to leave out anything that doesn't make his cause so even the most accurate facts are distorted.

I watch only when I see a topic of interest, watching a whole show is not my thing. Olbermann and Matthews are equally pathetic. The media and both parties have destroyed coherant communications in favor of drama, rhetoric and false information. They love these shows because it allows the distortion of the facts. If Fox did away with Hannity the network would be better off. They can't get interviews with some because of talk show mania. NBC and MSNBC are just as bad.
