The recent 60 Minutes story and Washington Post coverage (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/30/AR2008113002006.html) clearly highlights why Congress should regulate Internet gambling in order to protect consumers. The Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative has promoted this fact in a statement issued today (http://www.safeandsecureig.org/media/60min.pdf).

We encourage you to strike while the media attention is hot and contact your member of congress to let him or her know that you want to have the freedom to gamble online in a safe environment, legally protected from scams and unscrupulous operators.

Visit www.safeandsecureig.org to send an email to your elected representatives and learn more about this important issue.

Thanks.

I'd rather government have no say at all, let me choose who I give my money to.

The 60 Minutes story was interesting. I wasn't suprised to learn that a casino employee was involved. They didn't prosecute him. Know why, my opinion is the man was actually working for the online casino owner in an effort to cheat players and get back some of the casino money. Greedheads!!

Online casino cheating is common, I've read that some people meet in the same casino room online and cheat by communicating via instant messages or cell phones. Knowing what 3 or 4 players are holding and playing against the others or the house. Then they split the money afterwards.

Politicians have done nothing but cash the checks coming from casino owners, they whine and bitch, then they vote against the Bills. Its all a game. But can we trust the casino owners? Doubtful!!
