.Well thank you LadyMod...You never mentioned any politically correct blah blah, or George Bush...We're making progress here.
I most certainly do see other's "point of view" but it's amazing how the liberals always seem to be on what ever side is the most anti-America.
Liberal priorities override their credibility. If jihad cowards are murdering innocent children, the liberals will be griping about Gitmo or Abu Ghraib.
If McCain had a political campaign fund raiser at David Dukes house once 20 years ago, media and liberal shouts of racism would be loud and non-stop.
Obama has a fundraiser at a known marxist and unrepentant domestic terrorist's house and attends a racist church for 20 years and liberals make excuses.
It's easy to "see someone else's point of view" but very hard to sympathize or agree with them under these circumstances...Can you see my point of view?

An observation -
I am ON RECORD in these rooms as saying I will support President Obama and I am willing to give the guy a chance.
I will continue to live up to that -
HOWEVER - when something is dicked-up in D.C. - under his watch - I will voice an opinion. I will not sit idly by just because I am giving BO the benefit of the doubt.
The buck does stop with him (where have I heard this before, Bush haters?).
It's my patriotic thing to do (criticize and question government). And we have a hell of a lot of government - MORE SO in a year to two - to watch closely. I will not sit idly by when I see a fuck up, however, I will be respectful to the President-Select.
If only the Libs afforded GWB the same level of courtesy and respect he deserved as POTUS for the last eight years. We might be better off today.
Try it guys/gals....examine ALL elected officials. Pelosi/Reid, for example, have received a free fucking ride for the last two years. They've fucked up everything they've touched. Take it from there.

hogtrash...for one, you don't seem to hear the music of national unification, and most of all, you seem, as per usual, to have no appreciation of the financial debacle we are now subject.
You continue with your trashy low rent attempts to divide people into politicized positions rather than confront the condititions which face our nation as a whole. My assumption is that your act is too limited or too ridged to accomodate the new conditions which are daily unfolding in the mood and administration of our country.
You haven't noticed...obviously, that the only repugs who openly speak of our new administration, speak with praise and if not an eager, at least a professed willinglness to get on with Obama's mission. You and your ilk of stupid-speak repeaters are so pase' you fall beyond notice and all that lingers is a bad smell.

My point was, as Obama frequently notes, that we are all in it together.
Another of his points is that there can be no divisions between factions if we are to climb out of this hole.
I can't stand the repug value-set and their lack of inner character, but I will hold my nose and mentally allow them the right to cohabit without my recriminations. This is particularly hard for me because I honestly believe that they are suffering from arrested development to clinically insane. They break all the childhood rules that we were supposed to absorb before manhood...like lying, cheating, stealing, greed and murder...all these sad-assed traits were to be eschewed by the oncomming of reason and proper training.
But as I said, I will in my own mind strive for an honest sense of cohabitation.
Instead of striving for devisiveness, why don't you attempt to debate something positive...something useful?

Yep Stefan......your absolutely right in your observation of repugs.
All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be,
I learned in kindergarten.
Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain,
but there in the sandpile at Sunday School.
These are the things that I learned:
Share everything
Play fair
Don't hit people
Put things back where you found them
Clean up your mess
Don't take things that aren't yours
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody
Wash your hands before you eat
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you
Live a balanced life; learn some and think some
and draw and paint and sing and dance
and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together
Be aware of wonder
Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup ;
The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why,
but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup
They all die
So do we
And then remember the Dick and Jane books and the first word you learned the biggest word of all
LOOK
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere
The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation
Ecology and politics and equality and sane living
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm
Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap.
Or if all the governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess
And it is still true, no matter how old you are... when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together

I have attachments adblocked, so I'm not seeing whatever clever thing that is.
I know some are making the claim about double standards but I don't think it's fare to accuse of Hog of that in this thread. Maybe others but not here.
I don't recall him complaining or even acknowledging any videos posted that made fun of republican voters. In fact I don't even remember any videos posted that made fun of republican voters but there might have been.
So if he's not complaining childish attacks on one party while promoting them against another then there's no double standard that I see.
Being upset about a picture showing a republican candidate in an unflattering gesture while approving of the same for a democrat candidate would be a double standard.
Why the accusations of some people being thin skinned?
Hog was home alone, bored and angry on a Sunday afternoon. Instead of going out and doing something he decided to surf the Internet. Sure he could have chosen to educate himself or enjoy something fun but instead he was surfing You Tube to feed his anger and hate and posted this video practically begging people to entertain him with angry comments.
No one seems to be offended by it and isn't that what being thin skinned is? That's just Hog. I don't see anyone taking him seriously.

You keep forgetting that President George W. Bush had an approval rating of over 90% in September, 2001. He had the benefit of doubt and people supported him very strongly. He was given a chance and his loss of support was due to the actions of his administration.
So itd make sense to make the same mistakes of trusting this president.
Never knew politicans had any crediabilty
You should never trust any politician in Washington, any politician trying to get a job in Washington and anyone working for, with or lobbying to a Washington politician.
That's why I think it's insane when people think these politicians have moral values, religious values or as Hog puts, "Stay honest".
There's just nothing to support any of it and politicians running on religious or moral values I think are the worst because they're insulting the intelligence of the average American, even if the average American is stupid enough to believe it.
I think the only exception to the rules above are there might be some politicians that believe in God's will and they are simply mentally ill.

Chief...does it occur to you that individuals gain "respect and understanding" by their actions and abilities?
I find your comparison of butch to Obama a particularly brain-dead comparison.
Your inclusion of Obama's middle name for no other reason in your mind, than to somehow disparage Obama, also points to your lack of basic mental hardware.
If you noticed, I disparage your mental ineptitude directly from your mental output....this is the manner "respect and understanding" is granted or denied.
The office of the presidency is no better or worse than the person holding that office.
I understand from your moniker, that you claim some military experience where one's respect is afforded the rank, irrespective of the shoulder it sits upon, but we are not administered by the military out and about our streets and that bit of bullshit is not required. Here, and asshole is and asshole...as continuously proved by lame duck butch, who is simply a common thief and in no wise or measure qualified for the seat he now holds.
So why should anyone afford him "respect and understanding".,..,and how could you compare him to Barrack Husein Obama?

Chief...I guess you missed the primary...the fifty state organization...the thousands of workers all organized and run by Obama.
Having missed the primery, you might have also missed the fact that Obama garnered the most votes for any president EVER in history. In fact he, at this moment, carries a 78% approval rating.
An approval rating that high, exceeds the number of democrats in the country...I might assume the percentage might include some pre-braindead repugs...just going by the numbers.
Your statement about waiting until he takes the oath before gaining the ability to judge Obama, is really worse than lame in my view. Obama has been making thousands of very public choices...just as mccain has been, but most of the world KNOWS mccain is an opportunistic back-bencher, while more than equally certain of Obama's notable talents and abilities coupled with an obvious maturity and highly evolved value set.
In your own mind, I assume from your vaccuous commentary, that these millions of pro-Obama people who not only follow the cross section of our population, but are numerous enough to acutally BE that cross section, have been in some way deluded and you personally could talk sense into them and correct thier mental defaults.
On the bright side...since your only input is self generated, you remain secure as king of your own mountain and as such, you don't register shame as would a person with normal mental capacities. So being vaccuous enables you to continue your fiction of "even-handed thinking" without troubling introspection...the hallmark of the true hypocrite...or if that level of thought is too complex, then it works also as the mark of the eternal gasbag.

Your photo shows you in some level of management...I can only hope it is in someone else's navy.
The photo isn't me - brainiac. It's Don Rickles.
Are you an idiot or a foreigner who doesn't know any better?

why do you call yourself "chief"?
Further, you need not explain your criteria for judging Obama...I see your whole story...don rickles:)
don rickles personality, although never sworn in, must have qualities you think highly of. This shouldn't be a surprize to me, although I do find it bringing me up short. I don't think that man's mother ever admitted to that birth...even with torture.
rickles must be an acquired taste. I remember him on black and white TV...a thoroughly disgusting 50's aging wiseguy without endearing saving graces.
Having lived through the 50's, I found nothing of value other than the beginnings of rock & roll on the black end of the radio dial. Whereas the white Ozzie & Harriet model could, like you, stomach a deviant personality such as don rickles, and were so clueless as to believe him humorous.
So telling, you would choose such a jerk as your avatar. :)

why do you call yourself "chief"?
I don't.
I have NEVER called myself Chief.
That's a significant paycut. Several hundreds of dollars each month.
I retired as a Senior Chief.
Made Chief in 86, and Senior Chief in 89. So, was only a "Chief" for three years.
Sorry you are confused on this issue.
Does the French Navy, obviously your country (perhaps you're Canadian?) have senior enlisted ranks in the armed forces like we have in the U.S. ?
Or, perhaps you never served in the military and don't have a fucking clue as to which end of the tube the round comes out of?
Probably the latter would be my guess.

A passed over LT doesn't outrank a Senior Chief.
An Officer/Enlisted comparo would put an 0-6 about "on par" with a Senior Chief.

chief...I didn't call you 'senior' because I don't discriminate against the aged, being one myself.
I did call you 'chief', but being old myself and your penchant for the 50's, I figured you'd recognize "chief" as a 50's smartassed derogatory flip-off. As I mentioned before, the 50's sucked and this sort of illustrates that fact.
Yes...I'm playing around. I thought it best, as your present attempts to garnish points for your stint in the service is embarassing. Trying to compare pay grades...how low rent...I thought servicemen served for their country.
I'll stop here as I don't want to take time from your: "what I did last summer" exercize.

Cat Slave...real life didn't begin until THE PILL, halucinogens and wild wild women.
Yes, I mentioned the georgie woods...man with the goods, end of the dial, but people were just stories about themselves then. Everyone was reading off their script...no one was real...not even James Dean...he just had a different script. It was in the 60's that life actually began. before that, all I had was appetites and trouble.
You really think ozzie and harriet and the nelson boys weren't 100% scripted fifty-typed dorks?
If it weren't for girls and motercycles, I would have gone feral into the woods.
I can see we sort of have a divide at the point of what "good" looks like in the area of morals. For that matter, I see a schism between us in the measurement of "innocence". I suspect that you may feel that "innocence" and "just say no" are neighbors...whereas I have more of the "just throw me naked on the pile" philosophy, where the discovery of "innocence" in oneself is utilized directly as a guide to navagational control. As I mentioned previously...the pill...when coupled with the love generation marked the beginning of meaningful life on my planet.
I was too young and ignorant not to enjoy the fifties....but when compared to the sixties, the fifties were shit.

I got to know the ASROC and SUBROC systems pretty well while working on new countermeasures, yeah.
I was on the Thomas C Hart (FF-1092) for about four months and then the USS Hopper (DDG-70) for three years or so, thought about going career but I wimped out.

How does a Master Chief Sonarman manage only three years, four months at sea?
Hell, I was an admin puke and had FOUR ships, 9 years sea duty.
How did you pull that off? Also, TC Hart was decommed in the early 90s if I recall. You were on there in 96?

The Hart was sold to Turkey
http://navysite.de/ff/ff1092.htm
USS THOMAS C. HART was the 41st KNOX - class frigate. Decommissioned on August 30, 1993, the ship was subsequently leased to Turkey where it was recommissioned as ZAFER. Stricken from the Navy list on January 11, 1995, the THOMAS C. HART was finally purchased by Turkey on February 22, 2002.
