Barrack Obama the big winner sure is looking at many losers to surround him during the next 4 years. John Kerry as secretary of state, how embarrassing. Jennifer Granholm is advising him on economics when her state has the worst economy in the union. I the Jeffersons jingle "We're moving on up" starts playing in my head everytime I see him on TV now.:lmao2:

SecState has to work in tandem with SecDef pretty closely, so whoever Obama picks has to be compatible with Gates, who Obama is keeping.

So whoever Obama picks would probably have the Gates stamp of approval.

For someone that talked ab out "Uniting" and how we need partisanship, Obama is sure looking the the most liberal of liberal's to fill his cabinet.

I can't beleive Kerry is even a mention! :disbelief:

Imagine that.

Using an avatar that depicts urinating on our president elect while screaming with moral indignation on the subject of partisanship.

The avatar is digusting enough to me that I will place it on the ignore list.

Republicans will gain favor with tact and diplomacy. They are not in a position of strength. They are not in a position to make demands. They are not in a postion to dictate policy.

It is time for them to explore the reasons why.

Kerry is such a pompous stuffed shirt,
I personally think Obama should allow Massachusetts to keep its long time senator.
Why deprive them of this representation?

Please allow the gigolo from Massachusetts to remain with his 'wife'.

I like the idea of returning to some of the models of the carter years.

Carter was on the right track - if we had adopted his ideas as a nation we'd have economic security and wealth beyond our wildest dreams now.

Instead we let the oil and defense corporations take charge, and now we have a bankrupted nation addicted to consumer widgets, war, debt-as-income, and corporate wars.

If we had adopted his policies all our food would be coming from over seas and even more of our jobs would have be gone by now. Bush was a savior comapred to Jimmy Carter. One of my parents was basically unemployed for his whole term because of the economy then. We actaully drank water at some meals just save money.

Carter was the wors President we had in history...

Not according to Bush's numbers.

If we as a country had embraced energy efficiency and energy security the way carter espoused it, we would be rolling in money now.

American's didn't want to be responsible then, so we pigged out on debt-as-income and cheap foreign oil, and what we have now is the result - a morally and financially addicted and bankrupt nation, that makes nothing that the rest of the world wants.

I lived during the carter years, altho I didn't vote for him. The nation was a much better place then than it is now.

Maybe your parents just didn't want to work. Or were in some uneeded profession.

Do you have any factual data to support such a statement?

Based on the economy I think we're at the end of the worst President in history.

Carter took office with unemployment at 7.5%, which was a low number during the Nixon years. It came down but went back up under Carter and at it's worst point was 8.5%. That's a 12% which is bad but doesn't even compare with the 60% increase form 4% to 6.5% under Bush.

Then there's the debt.
Then the financial crisis.
Health care.
The wars.

I don't think you can come even close to using factual data to support that Carter was worse then Bush and we have 2 more months to go.

I'm not thrilled with the idea of Kerry as Sec. of State. I always thought he was as boring as driftwood and kind of pompous. I'd rather see someone like Bill Richardson in that spot.
