Who will Palin appoint as temporary Senator to go to Washington? Will it be a crony or a quality recommendation?

Isn't it funny when the system gives them a desired outcome people love it, and when it doesn't they blast it. I wonder if party homers will ever recognize their hypocrisy and stupidity one day.

I don't know but I can't imagine a state would actually write that in The Constitution. It would be funny.

Is this the type of political issues that you feel we should be discussing now that the election is over?

Palin can name Stevens replacement. The question is, will he be a good guy for the state like Palin. I doubt she'd pick someone who would embarass the people like Stevens did. Palin will get advice and feedback from advisors.

Well i should know a little about this
I think the best choice for that would be tony knowels, hes a dem i belive and hes lost his past couple of elections one for the gov. against frank murkouski a big reason palin is there now. frank liked to buy expensive jets and bridges that there was no priority for and he tried to go into our pfd and that shit dont fly. Then tony knowels went for ther other senate spot 2 years ago i belive and lost that, i think he would be as good as a senator as mark begich would be if stevens wins

If his Senate colleagues kick Stevens out it will be up to Governor Palin to appoint his interim replacement.

She can not appoint herself but can run in the by-election next year.

Actually I have been noticing in a couple of places that Alaska does a special replacement election.

As for Stevens, after a jury found Stevens guilty on seven felony counts of lying on his financial disclosure reports Oct. 28, Palin said: "even if elected on Tuesday, Senator Stevens should step aside to allow a special election to give Alaskans a real choice of who will serve them in Congress."

I did hear an analyst say that Palin could actually name herself as the interim Senator until the special election. That would certainly allow her to get more press.

I heard the same thing, but the most important thing for Alaskans is that the seat remains republican, perhaps the reason he received so many votes and the reason I voted for him. Democratic Senate/House, you betcha they will expel Stevens.

why should he resign?

Republicans are God's chosen criminals.

Now you know why i am an atheist.

As they rightly should.

She'll pick someone competent. Despite my overwhelming desire for her not to be the face of the Republican party, she's becoming just that and she'll be careful to proceed to 2012 without hiccups, scandals, and I'd take a guess she'll brush up on world politics, lol.

Palin really is pretty dense honestly. Watch her SNL spots, there really isn't a whole lot going on there. She is mostly oblivious to her surroundings.

If her dense exterior housed a keen intelligence it would be one thing, but at this point it doesn't.

She has a lot of work to do, just to get up to speed. She may do it, but it is no small task.
