Can anyone please answer the following, without attacking and name calling.
Lets try a civil conversation please.
President Obama has said he will bankrupt the coal industry.
Can anyone please tell me how we are going to get electricity?
Thanks,

Add concrete, some machinery, some food companies. There are several industries that burn coal, not just utilities. He will go back on that promise when he realizes the blunder.

He didn't say he would just simply bankrupt them, he said he would use taxes on carbon emissions to pressure them into using clean coal technologies. They could potentially bankrupt themselves if they ignored the pressure to switch.
Here is a video of McCain holding the same positon:

Also, that's just one question you asked.

Too bad you can't address HD's questions. Like the man said, do it without insults. Oh well the naive live on!

Industry will educate this naive corrupt thug PMOTUS. Or we will pay higher rates for electricity. God knows BO is anti Union. Utilities have many union workers.

really, he said he was going to bankrupt the coal industry...he said he was going to pursue agressive measures that would prohibit people from building new coal plants, and cause people to look towards alternative measures. Again, you listen to the programmers and can't actually listen to what people say...instead of what you want to hear.

Why should I give someone the dignity of a response when they can't even interpret what people say. I mean its obvious he wasn't saying, as presidnet I'm going to bankrupt the coal industry. He just takes one phrase and assigns the meaning he wants to it. I'm tired of people acting like they are intelectual midgets to try and prove something that isn't true. If you act like a moron, I'm going to call you out on it.

Maybe you should stop doing the same thing??? I've seen you do it with the mortgage scandal, BO's ties to terrorists, etc.......... HD was using quotes from the campaign, BO's words. Fact is, you guys come into threads with attacks or you deviate from the subject which is just as bad. Its like you'd rather deny the truth about BO rather than debate it at all.
I agree BO does not plan to bankrupt the coal industry, but he does plan to raise pollution permit fees (sulfar permits to pollute) and greenhouse gas permit plans are in the works. So BO is going to let industry fall rather than work with them, in his own words.

Remember, he did say we'd have to sacrifice, in his victory speech.
You know, turn the lights out in a room when you leave it, drive less, set the heat on 65, wear a sweater .............. Where have I heard that before?

Yup!
Remember when he was the great new change?
Walking to the inauguration.
I bought into that crap.
I was a Democrat then.
He's what ended up turning me Republican by the time Reagan came on the scene.
I was even dumb enough to buy commemorative Presidential envelopes stamped by the post office, stupidly thinking this was an historical change after Nixon; and that they'd be a valuable collectable item.

Yup and I bet he expects the poor to buy thier own sweater and no bitching about it. Drive slower and be late to work. BO had many foolish gaffes or was he serious and we thought they were gaffes?

Thank you asroc, I respect your answer in a civil way.
Look, I didn't want Obama to win, and I don't like him, but he is the elected president, let's see what he does.
I am a little worried about him, and I remember the last time we were in this boat.
Anyhow, thanks.
