Hopefully the Libertarian Party can take their place.

how awesome would that be, seriously, a party that believes in fiscal conservatism.

Oh, don't get your hopes up. They'll be back, at some point in time. Unfortunately, it'll be before I'm dead and gone.
With the damage the repugs did over the last eight years, I can't understand why millions upon millions of sheeple still voted for McCain. I suppose it's out of loyalty for their party, rather than voting for change and for making this a better country.
The Republican Party is still alive and well. They have more money in their media outlets alone then Obama received in donations. They're not going any where. They will revamp the message, they will start blaming Obama by the summer of 2009 and congress soon after that.
Hate takes generations to die and the amount of hate in America today is still strong. Just look at the posts on this board from Frank and HD already.

I was listening to Pills Limbaugh today while riding in the car. He said it's a war and the conservatives just lost a battle. He's telling his sheep to fight on, that they are battling for the future of this country. He will never stop spreading his hatred.

Seriously and logically speaking, I doubt we'll ever end the hate. People just love to hate. They thrive on the negative and spewing crapola about others. As far as I'm concerned, it's very exhausting and destructive.

Hate increased 400% when Bush took office as the left wing media attacked him at every opportunity. Anything Obama gets will be more than fair in that respect. If America got behind the President regardless of affiliation after election time we would be a much stronger nation.

The current right has only the pretenses of values without any actual values.
Values are always soulfully wrought in the furnace of real & meaningful events & circumstances. Recitation of dogma is no substitute for them. That is why we have let our constitution slip, because we don't understand with our hearts what our forefathers & foremothers saw, felt & lived with in real experience.
If you haven't earned them they ipso facto can not be your values,
they at the least are borrowed from someone else or they are just plain counterfeit.
Shallow bumper sticker 'values' are just a slapped on social convenience excuse for lazy, unearned minds.
The intellect can only be a blueprint for that which can only be earned & created with work, pain, frustration &/or misery.
Without these things joy can't help but peter out to meaninglessness.
The deeper your mind the more difficult it is to inflict violence upon others.
For the right the words are just excuses which is just another term for lies.
Harden your ears to their emptiness & lies. Do not be taken in by their chicanery.
It may sound like American English, but it is only empty, meaningless noise.
Don't let it touch, let alone, injure you heart or soul. Save your heart & soul only for those things you know are trustworthy based on experience.

I think you used the wrong terminology...Neocons RIP.
If Republicans returned to their fundamentals, almost libertarian foundations, they'll be back. I actually hope that the real Republicans take back their party.

The Republican base is so kinked & twisted up, anyone who makes it through the primaries is almost unpalatable to the American voting public.
If John McCain didn't have to whore for the extreme right he might have had a much more salvageable presidential campaign.
instead he used Palin to reinforce that lurch to the rabid, incoherent right.
& oh, she did not prove well, on her own to any measure.
The reason the right clings to these extreme notions is because they can't let go of them long enough to reach out to or for something better.
They cling to their anchors, which are sinking them, while they tell us how well centered it all is.
Um, you are drowning, & can only add others to your drowning.
Thanks, but NO thanks.
& it doesn't make any sense to throw you a life line when you refuse to let go of your anchors.

They are done. Yes there are still some idiots who are party homers like you, just for the other guys and spout the rhetoric and play the games, etc. The Republican party is now one of big government and spending, if you are going to go this way, just vote democrat, they do it better.

I heard this afternoon there's a guy Obama plans on appointing to the FCC, who's mission will be to eliminate opposition. They plan on shutting down talk radio, in it's present form; with new guidlines. Specifically, put conservatives off the air.
I've forgotten the guy's name, but he is a former FCC Chairman. They're waiting to fill the position of a guy retiring in June of 2009, quietly.
You know what this means .........
A lot of you non-conservatives (new spirit of civil discourse term) remember the "Vast Right-wing Conspiracy"? Those were the elitists. They've morphed into the "old guard" oligarchy. And they're either being targeted, after the takeover of power; or had already capitulated long ago.
The future is for the "Vast Right-center Grassroots Underground" ...
(I'm a Maverick)
...trying to keep up on what's happening, with no media, except from the networks in the tank.
Anyway, this is a head's up for when that guy presently on the board retires. We'll see what happens.

I've thought this out.
Just having a weapon doesn't solve everything. You wanna be another Ruby Ridge?
Technically, a gun is good to be sure to have ... but it's only good as a last resort, if your back is against the wall (and hunting).
You need to look at this as preparation for a long-term, phased withdrawal from the system. You need to look at what you need for various stages.
... where to keep our money
... mobility
... communication and information
... supplies
... defense
You might need all or none. But be prepared.

Did you happen to hear this from the same place where you heard that the polls were all wrong?

No.
I've been thinking about this since 1973.
I was just never sure when it would eventually become necessary.
(glad it happened in a higher-tech period)
