Almost all governmental policies are ideological, not practical, and ideology only changes in response to severe trauma and loss.

So, no amount of time without severe trauma to the ideologues is suffiecient to get them to stop spending money which is almost always not coming from their pocket.

I feel it depends on the policy. Like for example the idiocracy that is the "No Child Left Behind" Act. Which is a very much failed policy that has made the situation worse by cutting funding from struggling schools which just shows how stupid Bush is.

This is a bill that should be abandoned.

My hope is that obama and clinton tear each other apart while Edwards and Richardson side up to top billing.

Obama is great for the debate needed to bring a healthy dem platform into the forefront, but I think he's vulnerable to sheeted and eye-holed repugs that will undercut him by reserecting old predjudices. I also thng it's great that the press has made a face to face with hillary.
