The Sea Knight shoot down video - that's pretty impressive. I saw the best version of it on the NBC evening news - cnn seemed to be showing an edited version with the part where you can clearly see the missle and the hit cut out.

The pentagon said yesterday the chopper fell from mechanical failure - it's crystal clear from that video that it was shot down, you can see the missile exhaust trail, see it's fuel burn out, then the hit, debris blasted off the chopper, half the chopper instantly engulfed in a ball of flames.

Then they showed another video of an embedded reporter on a routine show-of-force patrol. They pass a dump, show a dead body lying there, explaining that the dump is used as a place for the sectarians to leave the tortured bodies - then an IED goes off. It misses the HV, but not by much. Because teh HV is armored, the guys inside are just shook up, but they explain that two weeks back an EFP hit another HV in their patrol and took off both of a soldiers legs.

Intense videos - especially because you know some iraqi guy was hiding somewhere close by with his infrared trigger, cursing because he pushed the button at the wrong moment.

Just another day on patrol in baghdad.

Hey Bill, just a request:

Usually people will give a link to the video, or at least a name of a file. There are, unfortunately, hundreds of videos from Iraq out there, and it's a pain to sift through them all.

Just a heads up.

Well dang, I watched them on the television, I don't know the name of the files.

I don't do as much net video as most people do, because I'm still stuck on a dialup connection. I can download video, if I'm willing to wait for it, but forced streaming like CNN has is pretty much impossible for me to realistically watch.

Anyhow, these videos were playing on the NBC nightly news.

Yeah, well, I figure if kids are going to get shot the fuck out of the sky by a missile that the penatgon denies existed, the least I can do is have the stomach to watch it.

I also figure if our kids have to drive around looking at corpses of tortured to death Iraqis lying at the edge of piles of garbage, then have an IED go off and nearly kill them, the least I can do, as an american citizen, is not close my eyes and pretend that shit ain't happening.

Which, it seems to me, is what 80% of the other fucking american citizens are fucking doing.

Not looking at it makes Cheney happy, and anything that makes Cheney happy I am opposed to, at this point.
