I'm asking this in all honesty. If you have any good reports or stats, please link me. I'm asking because I've personally never stumbled upon any and I hope I never do. But with all the talk of CP one would think that there is so much of it on the net that it's likely to pop on your monitor and flood your inbox at any time. I think the closed thing I've seen to CP is sites with models that are 18 but are made to appear younger.

I did a search on google news (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=child%20porn&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wn) and I was shocked at how many CP arrests their are.

If these people are guilty - they deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law - don't get me wrong. But the number of arrests, the amount of public attention focused on CP, and the fact that being charged with CP is probably as bad as being found guilty makes me think of Arthur Miller's The Crucible.

just in case anybody doesn't know where to report CP ASACP (http://www.asacp.org/report.php)

it is a big problem mainly because the market for it is big, a lot of people want it :(

the gov't really doesn't do it's full job in fighting it either, read some of those articles in google, alot of those people are multi-offenders and "upstanding" citizens... cops, firefighters, army soldiers, dare I say PRIESTS... it is a huge problem that the gov't holds the adult industry acountable for when they aren't the ones responsible... most of the laws passed to "protect the children" really don't protect the children at all... they pass sweeping record keeping laws and expect the CP pushers to keep records of all there illegal stuff :banghead: it is enough to drive you nuts

I would like to know more about it since I have a young daughter.

It concerns me that 3% of priests in the USA have been accused and about 40% of those have been accused multiple times.

You are correct about the USA government. They have a task force of FBI agents focused on consenting adults wanting to see other consenting adults naked. Seems like it would be more effective for them to hang out on My Space or do back ground checks on priests or anyone that has contact with children on a regular basis.

I'm pretty familiar with what is going on in the adult industry - that is what made me start wondering. One would think the most logical thing to do would be for the Federal Government to work WITH the adult industry -- perhaps ask their advice on the best way to fight the problem. I guess that makes far too much sense.

Can you imagine what would happen if Dubya would work with the adult industry and come up with real strategy to fight child porn?

Sure 1,000s of pedophiles could be busted but Bill Oreilly would make millions on bashing the idea.

If you study any of the laws it becomes obvious that they're most interested in getting reelected instead of protecting children.

Anyone that has access to information can easily the largest group of accused pedophiles but going against them means loosing the religious vote. You're expecting them to do what's right instead of doing what's best for that party?

Maybe 20 years ago but not now my friend.
