I believe it's true a certain professor's statistic..that as high as 1% of the population have at least a very mild form of schizophrenia, is real.
Equalling men and women. Now, with that in mind [although this conversation is not based off that number], do you think that some of the supposed greatest conspiracies in the last 100 years are actually the result of overactive imaginations?
I can't help but think that.
Yet, does our society accept these conspiracies like they would accept a religion? Because it makes our lives purposeful? That's an opinion on my part. It just seems where there is evidence of logic and reason, there is absense of conspiracy. I'm not sure. A better question may be: With the level of mental illness in our world and the recent invention of this wonderful internet, do you think that some of supposed phenomenons of our day are nothing more than overactive imaginations with a hint of this population wide schizophrenia? People want to believe amazing things, they really do.

subnormal...this is very well thought out and expressed. I'm impressed :)
I also think your 1% might be conservative...accordingly, I also recognize my membership in this this group, but deny for myself at least, your assessment of the motivations you've ascribedl...that of wanting to spice up life.
There is a need for all types...if those who serve as "guard dogs" aka... schitzos, didn't serve this purpose of repressing the levels of conspiracy to a level to where people like you don't/can't even notice, then another layer of people would neccessarily step in to serve when conspirators begin to hurt society too much to relax and ignore.
Getting back to your piece here, I woke up this morning thinking along similar lines...mine prompted not by conspiracy...even though we appeared to be reading from the same tract..."sometimes a cigar...is just a cigar"....but more probably prompted by my exhibition yesterday of how one goes over the top, in my response to Moby's homosexual union.
In fact, my loosing it had not much to do with homosexuals (everything I said is fact to me...but I don't have a dog in that particular fight) but more to do with people who make it thier business to crawl up their fellow's ass for the purpose of critique.
In this area, I had already been pushed (by my own internal triggers), over the edge, and consquently, the judging pros and cons of homosexual's lives and the viability of its possible modes, with all the clinical sensitivity choosing which accessories would look nice on your car...I lost it.
You may not have been able to differenciate this 'over the toppness' from a lot of my other missives where you were the object of my attentions (this is why I'm responding to you, rather than to Moby), but with you...I have been playing, (mostly with language)...yesterday's piece was not..
I can tell from the inside, whereas from the outside, the humor may not be apparent and may appear all of a piece.
Anyway, knowing this, I felt the need to explain the difference to you...
That you understand or agree or disagree, makes no difference to my rules for my behavior...just so I meet my own schitzo credo.

I would say that 1% is a very low number, at least in America. Watch Fox News and you'll suddenly realize that most people that watch think that all Muslims sit around all day and think of ways to kill them. Just listen to Dubya talk about terrorism. I would say the paranoid in America is closer to 30%.
I believe conspiracies exist in many forms because I've spent most of my life living within ear shot of the Pentagon. I heard and felt the plane crash. In my past I've over heard many conversation and seen many documents that contradict what the public and press take as fact.
Do we know the entire story about 9/11, Kennedy, Iraq, Cheney .... NO. Believing so is silly. Trying to get the entire story on these issues is just as silly since that's impossible.
Basically I've learned how the mind of powerful people in politics seems to work. Understanding the past of people involved with situations gives an understanding of what they might have done in a given situation but that's still far from the actual truth.

Seem's to me just because a person is paraniod, does'nt mean somebody/thing is'nt out to get them.I'm kidding (maybe).I am of the opinion that Sigmond F.,Jung, and thier different aproaches to what the cause(s) and treatment of certain mental disorders.Gave Birth to a cash cow...in the form of Therapist's,Analist's,ect.whom for those with the money to spend, will give an hour(at $100.00 or so per.)to help them find out why they are'nt as happy as they would like to be.After helping these unfortunate people find the cause of their distress,(Mommy,Daddy,Father O'Mally,or the kid who bullied them at school)with a few more years of therapy, they can be happy as well as being in a high tax bracket.I must close now,I have found,Telling my problems to a barmaid,as effective as telling a (shrink)and sometimes I get a free drink out of it,as well. ex an early apointment at with
