Being lazy, violent and responsible for their own troubles, could be said for millions of other individuals as well. Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with color. As humans, we are all responsible for our own well being. And with that comes whether or not we are violent or lazy. It's our choice.

One finding: More than a quarter of white Democrats agree that "if blacks would only try harder, they could be just as well off as whites." The shear number of successful blacks, including Obama, should make it obvious to everyone, that anyone willing to get an education and work hard can succeed in America. The accusations that racisim is holding anyone back is rediculous.

Those who agreed with that statement were much less likely to back Obama than those who didn't. Agreeing with the statement is no reason to not vote for Obama. His personal history, views, policies and experience should be a voters primary deciding factors, or you might justifiably be labled a racist.
Among white independents, racial stereotyping is not uncommon. For example, while about 20 percent of independent voters called blacks "intelligent" or "smart," more than one third latched on the adjective "complaining" and 24 percent said blacks were "violent."The accusation of "complaining" is simple to explain. Many blacks continue to play the "race card" to milk America for everything they can get, not caring for the damage they cause to race relations and keeping alive many of the lingering racial tensions. Watching the news and events that occur around the world, especialy in Afrcan nations, I do see where the black race does seem to have more of a genetic propensity towards violence. Genetics have been attributed to many human traits, other than just the physical ones that are obvious.

Largely I see negative opinions of black people by whites as fueled by ignorance. You expect them to act culturally according to your standards, when these same standards as of just 40 years ago would have been complete oppression towards them. Anything you see as a negative action, inaction or reaction you don't even try to understand, you just use it as a reason to write off people who are different than you. It's completely based in fear.

I'm willing to give any group of people who faced hundreds of years of slavery and oppression a wide berth in terms of figuring our their place in society. I'm also willing to hear and actually try to understand their point of view.

The inginuity of the white race would of course create Utopias in these places, but being minorities, not only in America but the world, jealousy would eventualy bring them under fire once again. Their intelect along with abandoning political correctness will be their only hope of survival.

If whites survive long enough, they may well be the first to leave Earth to populate some far away world and leave the hatred and bigotry behind and the Earth will be a dark and savage place without them. But the Universe will be a much better place...Is racial pride only proper for minorities???

I'm with you on this one, Cat. It just seems so futile to spend one's time hating. There is enough of that in the world and each of us need to manup and make it a better place by stopping the hate.
