This article is titled "The Anger Factor"

"The media are getting mad.

Whether it's the latest back-and-forth over attack ads, the silly lipstick flap or the continuing debate over Sarah and sexism, you can just feel the tension level rising several notches.

Maybe it's a sense that this is crunch time, that the election is on the line, that the press is being manipulated (not that there's anything new about that).

News outlets are increasingly challenging false or questionable claims by the McCain campaign, whether it's the ad accusing Obama of supporting sex-ed for kindergartners (the Illinois legislation clearly describes "age-appropriate" programs) or Palin's repeated boast that she stopped the Bridge to Nowhere (after she had supported it, and after Congress had effectively killed the specific earmark)."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/11/AR2008091100793_pf.html

As for the sudden insistence that Palin is a delicate flower who must be shielded from harsh rhetoric, take this example. Joe Biden, asked if Palin as VP would be a step forward for women, said: "Look, I think the issue is: What does Sarah Palin think? What does she believe? I assume she thinks and agrees with the same policies that George Bush and John McCain think. And that's obviously a backward step for women."

A typical political shot? Not according to the RNC, which said the "arrogant" remarks are "better suited for the backrooms of his old boys' club," while Palin is trying to break "the highest glass ceiling."

Of course, she wasn't picked because she is a woman, was she? And I'm sure if Hillary was the nominee, the RNC would be extremely respectful of her attempt to shatter an even higher glass ceiling.

The lipstick imbroglio is evidence that the Drudge/Fox/New York Post axis can drive just about any story into mainstream land. Does anyone seriously believe that Barack Obama was calling Sarah Palin a pig? What about the fact that McCain has used "lipstick on a pig" before? What about the book by that title by former McCain aide Torie Clarke? Never mind: get the cable bookers to line up women on opposite sides of the lipstick divide and let them claw at each other!

Because all you limpwristed republicans just LOOOOOVE to hide behind that skirt.

In between bouts on your knees for your corporate masters, sucking down some soundbytes like "Drill Baby Drill" to repeat mindlessly and make your masters richer at the expense of the country and the taxpayer.

DRILL BABY DRILL sounds about right for a bunch of fembots.

The NYT reports on her croneyism....

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/us/politics/14palin.html?_r=2&hp=&oref=slogin&pagewanted=all&oref=slogin

WASILLA, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal.

So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency.

Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five schoolmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages.

What good is being elected if you can't use it to give your friends cushy jobs they aren't qualified for, right?

President NONUTS Bush did it, why can't Palin?

Interviews show that Ms. Palin runs an administration that puts a premium on loyalty and secrecy. The governor and her top officials sometimes use personal e-mail accounts for state business; dozens of e-mail messages obtained by The New York Times show that her staff members studied whether that could allow them to circumvent subpoenas seeking public records.

Rick Steiner, a University of Alaska professor, sought the e-mail messages of state scientists who had examined the effect of global warming on polar bears. (Ms. Palin said the scientists had found no ill effects, and she has sued the federal government to block the listing of the bears as endangered.) An administration official told Mr. Steiner that his request would cost $468,784 to process.

When Mr. Steiner finally obtained the e-mail messages — through a federal records request — he discovered that state scientists had in fact agreed that the bears were in danger, records show.

“Their secrecy is off the charts,” Mr. Steiner said.

Oh, and secrecy and trickery to hide the facts from the taxpayers is just business as usual.

Bush did it, why not Palin?

It's the Republican way, right?

Palin is Bush in a skirt. And I thought the lipstick analogy was very accurate.

I've said that Palin was a brilliant choice for McCain, but I never bothered to mention that I don't think she's the right choice for the job, but why was Palin a brilliant pick?

Let's look at Biden's quote again, ""Look, I think the issue is: What does Sarah Palin think? What does she believe? I assume she thinks and agrees with the same policies that George Bush and John McCain think. And that's obviously a backward step for women."

See, this automatically assumes that if you're a woman you have to have liberal views. Do women relate more to Palin or Pelosi? Should feminists automatically boo and hiss the fact that Palin has conservative views or should they applaud the fact that she is a woman a heartbeat away from the White House.

To me it seems too myopic of a view, to assume because they're women they automatically agree with a liberal agenda and Biden and others should avoid that. I'm not a spin doctor but I see ways to use that quote against Biden. Stop talking about her as a "woman" and start stating the fact that she's a goof.

Palin isn't ready to be Vice President, she has the same lack of experience issues that I felt with Obama, but I still think she was a brilliant pick for McCain and pretty much changed this election from an easy win for Obama to a toss up.

I say I have to agree with you on this. It's been good for the public too. Look how much we have learned about the candidates since she was chosen? Sheesh, who would have thought so many lies would be exposed and so many hard hitting questions posed to the candidates.

I think they are all squirming, wondering what the hell happened to the "easy victory"?

On the Bridge to Nowhere, it's been debunked by everyone. What type of person would continue to repeat that lie?

That's the point, what the hell is Biden talking about her being a woman when he could nail her on the bridge (wait did that sound sexist?)

Why waste time on her family life when they can pound her on the Trooper gate thing, her actual record, make her talk about those things instead of letting her boobs get in the way.
