You'd be forgiven for thinking that it was some new restriction on free speech in Communist China. But it isn't. The U.S. Government wants to force bloggers and online grassroots activists to register and regularly report their activities to Congress in the latest astounding attack on the internet and the First Amendment.
Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of GrassrootsFreedom.com, a website dedicated to fighting efforts to silence grassroots movements, states:
"Section 220 of S. 1, the lobbying reform bill currently before the Senate, would require grassroots causes, even bloggers, who communicate to 500 or more members of the public on policy matters, to register and report quarterly to Congress the same as the big K Street lobbyists. Section 220 would amend existing lobbying reporting law by creating the most expansive intrusion on First Amendment rights ever. For the first time in history, critics of Congress will need to register and report with Congress itself."
In other words Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats may redefine the meaning of lobbying in order that political communications to and even between citizens falls under the same legislation.
Under current law any 'lobbyist" who 'knowingly and willingly fails to file or report." quarterly to the government faces criminal charges including a possible jail term of up to one year.
The amendment is currently on hold.
This latest attack on bloggers comes hot on the heels of Republican Senator John McCain's proposal to introduce legislation that would fine blogs up to $300,000 for offensive statements, photos and videos posted by visitors on comment boards.
McCain's proposal is presented under the banner of saving children from sexual predators and encourages informants to shop website owners to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who then pass the information on to the relevant police authorities.

And I told him to keep them coming. McCain hates freedom, if it weren't for my desire for one party power I would vote for him for Pres.

Kres...I enjoy your enthusiasm, but yor are tacking the wrong scent...MEDIA SUPPRESSION.
I keep stinking it under your nose, but you're missing the quarry...scratching the wrong foot...as it were.
Media...if you trouble to read the piece, had to do with bloggers on the internet.
It has to do with citizens making their undrstandings known as we do on this list.
SURELY YOU SEE AND UNDERSTAND THAT COMMENTARY ON THIS LIST AND OTHER SUCH LISTS MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO TAKE AWAY OUR FREEDOMS...SO IT APPEARS VITAL TO THOSE WHO WISH TO SUPPRESS THOSE FREEDOMS TO SHUT DOWN OUR INTERNETTING...HERE...SNIFF IT AGAIN... AFTER I'VE RUBBED UP THE SCENT.
The other big danger to a corrupt government is all wifi options...laptop and handphones' ability to broadcast to large numbers of people with a single message...
The organizational capacity as demonstrated by H. Dean on the one hand, and the paris mobs defying the army of cops sent repeatedly to confront air, is the very icon of personal freedom...and as such, shitheel slimes like mcain and lieberman (butchco of course) fear it to a great degree and are determined to take it away from us.
Kres...this is the "big one" boy...get your creative juices going to produce your special brand of heresy to fit its magnitude and importance:)

Government owns all. They own all the wealth, hence their ability to redistribute it as they see fit, or hinder us from being able to create our own with oppressive tax codes and barrier to business. They own all land, hence their reason to take property from anyone as they see fit to do via eminent domain. They also own the airwaves, the roads, the lines, and anyhting else information travels via. Hence they have every right to enact the fairness doctrine, McCain-Feingold, and any laws that dictate what we say on the internet in order to stop us from saying things they deem to be irresponsible or not in the best interest of the country. As we all know government has every right to take away any freedoms they see fit in the name of "government knows best". Just another case of that here. As a hater of freedom I am very glad to see my boy McCain doing this and hopes he continues to legislate away all freedom at his current pace. As a fellow hater of freedom you should realize this.

EX...Kres is a self proclaimed Colbert...and is doing a credable job of it:)
After all...he got your goat:)
The object here ...as I see it, is to expose government crimes against the people and CRIMES against the Constitution.,..I can say impinging upon the Constitution is a CRIME, because these shitheels are sworn and have enjoyed taxpayer money to uphold those concepts and the Bill of Rights.
Without a foil, there is no contest. Contests are far more engaging to the mind than singing an intermedable single tone tune to the choir...
Kres is supplying that service...as compared to subnormal, or AJ, who are simply brain dead and brain washed...hence only serve as an irritant...that and in AJ's case, to mark the low watermark that humanity can sink to and still consider themselves a "normal"-walk our streets, shithead.
It's a goof EX...lighten up:)

It's good to see that getting rid of freedom of speech is a nonpartisan issue. Glad to see both parties are coming together to rid us of this disgusting freedom. Fairness doctrine, McCain-Fiengold, now get those bloggers too. Wish the parties could work together more often.
