A lot of people here in GA think they know better than government. They think that government doesn't know best when it comes to what days of the week we should be able to buy alcohol. So some people are talking about putting it to vote. Gov. Perdue, who knows that he and the rest of the GA state government know best, is against it. He tells us that the state of Georgia doesn't let us buy beer on Sundays because it teaches good time management. That's right, time management. Having to plan ahead to drink on Sunday's is a gift from government that teaches us time management.

This is what I am saying people. Only government officials could come with something this ingenious. People need to be taught time management, and if something needs to be done, it's government's job to do it. Anbd here they have.

It's times like this that I think God we live in a country where government is responsible for us and in charge of our education, retirement, and soon to be health care.

Kres...It sounds like your concept of government is no different from that of the armed services...good, only they no longer issue grog.

There are those who find comfort and security in the service...like old red china...we could have our clothes issued to us...then all those models could go back to eating three issued squares a day...what a boon...I think I'm beginning to see your point...what I don't see yet, is the governments quid pro quo...what do they want from us...our life and limbs in the DU dust fields of the war de jure?

You have studiously avoided mentioning this...do they somehow have expectations of greater taxes...I don't think so, because I no longer have reason to work with this new arrangment.

Or maybe, they'll just print the money willy-nilly like they have been doing for years now...only why should I actually use or need money when all my needs are issued?

Somehow I beginning to think that to make your plan balance...and all plans must balance like an equations...yours appears to require the insertion of a large caliber asshole to make it come out...but I guess you've supplied your own, and in your mind it balances fine.

Big government is awesome, freedom blows. That's all I got. This story proves it too. Only government could come up with a plan this ingenious.

I always find blue laws funny because I never read anything about not buying booze on the Sabbath. Of course I did read that any man that works on the Sabbath should be put to death but most church leaders that are doing their jobs on Sunday don't like to mention that one.
