I for one would like to see food be provided by the government. Once we get universal health care the government will have every right to tell us what we can and can't eat since they are responsible for our health. Since this will be the case why not make the entire food industry government run and provide us all with food subsidized on the tax payers dime. That way the rich will cover most of the cost and we can spend more of our money on other things.

Imagine a country where no one goes hungry because everyone has healthy meals to eat provided by the government. No more having to shop or try and choose what is good and bad for you, the government will decide all of that for you. Sounds pretty sweet to me.

OK,I have been trying to figure what sort of enviroment,or blunt trauma to the skull(resulting in severe sub-dural-hematoma,and permenent brain damage)is,in part at least, responcible for your total lack of personal integrity, and completely apathetic(pathetic)attitude. Please inform me,as to whether my uninformed reasoning is,or is not correct...So tell me kres24gt. How long since you were paroled,or did you max it out till your E.O.S.? ex.

Ass someone who believes government always knows best and is always right and should never be questioned I have never broken the law, therefore I have not been paroled recently or ever. I am simply a lover of big government and crushing freedom. I am also a huge fan of getting things for free or at least at a discounted price via government subsidies funded by taxes on the rich. This allows me to spend more of my money on ring tones for my cell phone.

I hope you will give up your dreams of liberty and join me and the rest of the country in squashing freedom once and for all. By voting for Republicans and Democrats we can insure that government will continue to grow and freedom will continue to disappear. Join us and do your part.

Ex...in some of the Plains Indian tribes, they had what was called a "contrary"
(In the movie little big man noted this) those who took up this vocation were respected as teachers and wise. I have a notion this guy is neither, but he gives me a kick by not breaking character and being outrageous at the same time:)

I certainly don't agree with his libertarian attitudes ...he's a clever jerk, but a jerk just the same.

Anyone that doesn't acknowlege the two tier ecconomic system here that stacks the deck against the poor ever getting off their knees, no matter how hard they work, and live in the shadow a a single illness, injury or vehicular failure thowing them into homelessness, needs their humanities rebooted.

This kres jerk is long past his annual check-up. We'll soon see how your smug superiority deals with financial ruin in the comming financial blowout.

I agree Stefan. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing someone work there way up. I went and saw that movie The Pursuit of Happyness and it made me vomit. Why did that guy work hard to get out of poverty? He should have been screaming for government handouts and more government dependence. I realize the movie was set in the 80's and we have done a great job of squashing freedom since then, but still, stories like that make me sick. When times are tough you rely on government, not hard work and determination. As you pointed out, government run by power hungry corrupt politician is the only solution to every problem, like making things fair the poor for instance. Luckily we have done a lot in recent years to make it much harder for people to work there way out of poverty. We have significantly lowered the standards of education, we have passed multiple barriers to business that hinder entrepreneurship, and every day we are passing more laws to end freedom and increase dependence on government. Once we squash every opportunity for people to better themselves we can more easily pass big government laws for people like me who just don't want to have to work hard or make choices that may have bad consequences.

Democrats are the only viable response to blocking the repug machine from retaking DC.

I am well aware of the corruption of both party's, but an attempt to install some third canidate will only enable repugs a clear field.

I believe citizen oversight consisting of humongous numers of voters pressuring the dems, is the best way to go, as dems. respond to voter pressure, whereas repugs got god.

Like I said in the other post, I agree. We must have one party control to more speedily and effectively rid this nation of any freedom. Vote Dem in 2008.

Thomas Paine had some good tidbits to say about government and some limitations. Under any 'system' if you put your total trust in MAN (typical rulers, kings, dictators, Napoleans...yada...yada..yada). You will be disenchancted and lied or cheated upon, as this is mans condition toward the 7 deadly sins (see all of history...it has not changed). Greed and pride etc. amongest the top, for power and control and wealth above others.
So, what system do you wish to live under given the global garbage we can choose to live under (perhaps-assuming we can migrate?). If you can name a more decent Utopia and back it up, I am all ears. Austrailia might be a decent place these days?
Dictators or 70% socialism taxes are NOT my cup of tea, even if medical or schooling is free (although it looks appealing, try living it first). Can you really trust Government 100%? Probably feed us soilent green at some juncture as they eliminate those older and unproductive tax payers and siphoners of the benefits from the treasury. Science fiction sometimes shows alot of truths. We would all be wonderful people if we could live more righteous lives.

Paul...I hear austrailia is a police state...not only can't you have guns, but you can't even protect yourself by killing a poisonous snake in your kitchen...you call some agency. (They have an epidemic sized population of poisonous brown aggressive snakes now...)

I still hear good things about New Zealand, but personally I'd rathe look to puerto rico, sand and ocean and lazy days...but I am so old now, that when my garage is finally built, instead of a proper motorcycle, I now fantasize about goldwings... the two-wheeled winnabago.

As far a people and riteousness...people are such basic shits, that they only become righteous is there is some sort of "payday" involved...even if it's just ti climb up on some imaginary hill of their own making, to yell down to curse sinners for their inequities.

Adopting a role, precludes acting outside of that role...whatever it is. This is a cost to the pretender...and we all pretend to actually be our chosen personna...like subnormal pretending butch isn't guilty of attacking us at WTC...he has to give up any claim to intelligence, and wear the mantle of sheep in good standing...I can't figure what his payoff is...but I can guarentee you, in his warped set of values, there is one.

We are all just folks..we like to be comfortable, eat, shit and fuck...anyone who takes on a role that services those items poorly, is a fucked individual and should be pitied...if you find the charity in yourself.

For myself, the fact that I don't hit priest in the head with a brick, proves my sense of charity is greater than that of the priest's...and better yet, I don't attempt to flaunt my more developed gratiousness...and even further, I certainly don't pass the plate...unlike a host of others.

But more to the point, the priest had a choice...he might have been a gynocologist, but he chose to be a priest...somehow he found a bigger payoff...maybe in young boys, maybe in a bigger brighter halo and seat closer to god...but people always make the best choices they can think of at the time...garbage in...rapest out...the best choice at the time...I'm not saying anyone makes intelligent choices.

But Paul...you need to make the payoff for righteousness greater that whatever people see the payoff for being a prick, killer and thief.

Not an easy thing to change a population's direction...like making a 180 with a battleship...it needs constant encouragement toward the goal desired.

The Marxist Doctrine spelled out good reasons for doing this. The problem was that the economy become so poor that while everyone had money for food there was no food to be had.

It's a great idea but there's no way to pay for it.

That would go against what this country was built on and how it runs today. It would be giving into the people that usually deserve to be homeless. Now in many cases it isn't their fault (i.e children). But in today's society it is very easy for them to move up but they won't due to being lazy.

In America you have the right to suceed.
But you also have the right to fail.

This would be just giving in.

Plus it would spell doom economic wise.
