Richard Viguerie: Bush White House Hides True Scope of Federal Deficit

MANASSAS, Va - PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The following is a statement by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, regarding the White House projection of a $482 billion deficit for Fiscal Year 2009:

"The White House has issued figures indicating that President Bush and his enablers in Congress will leave his successor with a budget deficit of $482 Billion for Fiscal Year 2009, which is a record. How's that for a legacy?

"As shocking as this deficit figure is, that's still not the true scope of our budget woes because it excludes $80 billion in war costs and $227 billion borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund.
"The real budget deficit is therefore $789 billion.

"Under accounting trickery that would probably land the top officers of a publicly traded company in jail, the money borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund -- and spent on anything and everything except Social Security payments -- is not counted towards the budget deficit, although it is part of our $9.49 Trillion National Debt.

"It's way past time for Washington politicians to have their own Sarbanes-Oxley.

"But this is how corrupt Washington has become. Besides the dangerous practice of massive deficit spending, which will saddle our children and grandchildren with trillions of dollars of debt, the Bush White House and Congress are conspiring to conceal the true nature and scope of the problem.

"This year's budget deficit will actually be $307 billion worse than the politicians are saying. This fraud on the American people is a conspiracy of silence by both major political parties.

"In stunning hypocrisy, the White House blamed the record budget deficit on the slowing economy and the $150 billion stimulus package passed earlier this year.

"No, Mr. President, the buck stops with you. Stand up and accept the responsibility -- and your legacy -- for massively expanding government."

NOTE TO EDITORS: Richard A. Viguerie pioneered political direct mail and has been called "one of the creators of the modern conservative movement" (The Nation magazine) and one of the "conservatives of the century" (The Washington Times). His latest book is Conservatives Betrayed: How George W. Bush and Other Big-Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause (Bonus Books), which, Jerome Corsi wrote in WorldNetDaily, is "destined to become a classic of conservative thinking" and "may be the most important conservative book written in the last quarter century."

You didn't get the memo.

It's only wrong if a democrat does it.

(Not that any dems have done it, in my memory.)

But, republicans are CHEERING nonuts for this.

They want to erect a statue to his creative accounting.

However you want to view is there Jesse, but yes I am very fortunate in that I was wise with my money and invested it properly, I am an old man and been around a long time.
I am now fortunate enough to be able to enjoy my life.

Well maybe to the city of Mexico, but that's not where I go.

I like to hang out way down in Mexico, where the beaches are wite and the sand is like salt. You can see the bottom at 50 feet because the water is a beutful clear dark blue, and I can lay in my hammoc with a Rum and Coke, barefoot and feel the cool Ocean breeze.

What's nice is that I don't have to do a Fucking thing if I don't want to, but I do enjoy heading out fishing.
It's nice hanging out on a 48' Sprots Fishing Boat, enjoying a little Jimmy Buffet, and drinking Pina Coladas.

Yup, life is great down there, a Hell of a lot beeter than being in the Desert.

My finances are not of you're or anyone elses concernes, but since you opened your mouth and made what I would consider to be a false statement, I thought I would respond.

No I did not make a false statement, the facts of that church shooting are what they are. I used to manage the operations over seening 35 people doing production and distribution at a chemical plant and it was a union shop. The reason I took another job is that the teamsters would listen to rush limbaugh all day and they could not figure out there were getting brainwashed.

This brings me to my point and the fact is this trickle down economics is total bullshit. Over the last 28 years and for the record bill clinton was a moderate republican. Since the trickle down theory was enacted real wages have been decreasing, so it just did not trickle down. The problem now is do to the inflation caused by the high energy cost, that the divide between the cost of goods and wages are so vast that there is no one that can make the correction without putting the economy in a all out nose dive. Thus bringing a thrid world system to the United States for wage earners end of story. So if you work for wages or are on a fixed income you are a fucking brained washed idiot if you vote for a republican. If you want any normal standard of living it will not happen by giving the upper 1% a free ride off your labor. The fact is this with that church shooter, if the republicans had their way he would have never gotten food stamps in the first place, that is why they have dumpsters; that dumb fuck's head was filled with all that right wing nonsense and could not see who was really fucked-em. The rest of these non republicans on this board that work for wages or on a fixed income there next in line to be fucked, out of their own stupidity.

Is Wal-Mart crossing the legal line with anti-Democratic campaign?

Executives at the nation's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, are all-but urging their employees to vote Republican this November, fearing that a Barack Obama presidency combined with Democratic gains in the Senate could spell doom for their anti-union business model.

The Wall Street Journal reports Friday that company executives are forcing store managers and department heads into mandatory meetings where they are warned that Democratic victories would make it easier for unions to organize in their stores. The retail giant has responded to previous attempts to unionize by eliminating departments or shutting down stores.

Wal-Mart opposes proposed legislation called the Employee Free Choice Act, which would make it easier for workers to unionize by signing a card rather than holding a vote.

The Journal spoke to a dozen employees in seven states who attended meetings with Wal-Mart human resources managers who delivered the company's anti-union line, warning that "unionized stores would have to pay hefty union dues while getting nothing in return, and may have to go on strike without compensation."

Hey dummy, it also takes away the workers right to a secret ballot vote. And leaves the individual against a union open to intimidation to change their decision.

http://laborpains.org/?p=938

"It appears that Mr. Merkley is the one who has a fundamental misunderstanding as he fails to recognize that it is not the workers who will have a choice under the grossly mis-named Employee Free Choice Act, but rather the union organizers and big labor bosses who will decide whether to use a private ballot or card check.

Union bosses and their organizers prefer card check because it means they know exactly how people are going to vote. For anyone who doesn’t agree with joining the union, they are more open to threats, intimidation and undue pressure by other co-workers, union organizers and even their supervisors. Workers can even be visited in their homes by union organizers so that the organizers can “persuade” workers that a union is the right thing to do in their workplace."

But it still doesn't answer the question of taking away the concept of the secret ballot, to avoid intimidation.

The Dems want the Unions to have more power, with all those union dues and political clout.

The Shrinking Influence of the US Federal Reserve

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,562291,00.html
By Gabor Steingart in Washington

Humiliation for Mr. Dollar: Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the United States Federal Reserve Bank, faces a general investigation by the International Monetary Fund. Just one more example of the Fed losing its power.

The United States Federal Reserve Bank, or Fed, seems as much a part of America as Coca-Cola or Pizza Hut. But at least one difference has become apparent in recent days. While the pizza chain and soft-drink maker are likely to expand their scope of influence in the age of globalization, the US central bank is finding that its power is shrinking.
