I've admin many sites, too. When I ban a poster, I ban them from logging in. and for very good reasons, too!
If oneway is so bad, why allow him to log in at all? Anyone can still view the site without logging in!

My fucking problem is that oneway has not been banned. If anyone can show me where vbulletin allows a poster to be banned from posting and can be allowed to log in, I would be interested in it!

Bill has a usergroup set up for no posting permissions, but can still log in. It's probably a vbulletin default.

He has simply moved oneway to that usergroup.

I didn't say I couldn't access members' IPs'. I just meant that I don't.
I do have some moral standards, ya know! ;)

On another forum I helped a guy embed a link into an image which ran when a member clicked on the image. The link was disguised to look like a description of the image when hovered. It took the clicker to a nothing website which captured the IP through a standard program. (Statcounter, I think, or something like it. Or maybe just through the cpanel) It was nothing more than a party trick but it did disclose the location of the poster to within a few miles and once clicked the victim, er clicker had no idea they're IP had been disclosed. :D

Not really much use unless you wanted to report someone.

Yep, that's what I thought.
The admins may have reset the permissions to enable logging in while a member is banned, although I could'nt imagine why! You don't need to log in if anyone can visit the site without even registering.

If that's the case, I'd like to know what a banned member can and cannot do if they are allowed to log in?
Can they private message? Can they search threads? Can they alter their settings through the User CP? If they can't do any of these things, why allow them to log in whilst they're banned?

Since no one seems to have the answers, I will have to ask Oneway when he returns on 8/2.

Btw, if you check Oneways' Profile page, you'll see his last log in was 3:12PM Yesterday.
