HT, the majority of your posts are okay especially in comparison to Wrongways posts. People may disagree with you at times but at least your posts are above 4th grade level reading. I've been reading this site since late October, it seems banning is equal regardless of party ideals.

Banning should be used more often in my opinion. It teaches members to post relevant information that is useful and educational and it is information we can debate and discuss without being annoyed. Deleting childish, worthless posts is a good idea.

I'd be glad to vote to delete crap once 3 or more members said the post is worthless crap. Maybe Bill and Sirmoby should discuss a Democratic form of banning posts ? If a post is stupid, childish or annoying, allow members to vote in the same post, if the majority agree the post should be deleted, then it is deleted.

I've just warned oneway about topic spamming, and noticed that while I've mentioned the issue of topic spamming ( or subject line or title spamming ) in the past, it wasn't a posted simple rule, so I've added it to the very short list of simple rules.

oneway is of course entitled to his opinion, but now that he has been warned, I expect the topic spamming to stop.

I won't ban him now, because the topic spamming convention was more an unwritten rule in the past.

Since most of the people on the banned list were banned as spammers, it wouldn't be easy or relevant to generate a banned list from the mod information.

I've only banned one person, to my memory, for reasons other than spamming, and that was radioguy. It should be easy to find the final thread in which I gave him his third and permanent ban.

SirMoby may have banned more - I don't keep track. I mostly recall one, because it was for my primary concern - see below.

The big thing I will ban for is threats and threatening behavior. However, my tendency is to ban for a short period in hopes that the poster will modify his or her behavior.
