It's nice to know the republicans can always count on the muslims to save their bacon.

I suspect it is more that the Saudis see consumption going down and see the
handwriting on the wall. He rubbed Bushs face in it when he went begging so
I dont think they are doing anything to satisfy him or his cohorts. I think they
have put two and two together and see what hurts our economy has a ripple
effect and the money is what everything is about.
Hmmm - the analysts seem to be saying it won't make a difference, and to expect $150 oil soon - or so they just said on the nbc evening news.
They said it's too small of an increase - one analyst said the meeting was 'a complete bust".

Bill, to be honest, whatever we see here is only going to have a limited effect.
It's like hanging out by the railroad tracks, shooting craps with the homeless; all the while not noticing the train coming down the track.
If anybody attacks Iran, and especially if they respond and it escalates, the whole ballgame is over. We're in uncharted territory. Worldwide oil, economy, food, affected by a war that could see missiles flying everywhere between Italy and India; depending upon a multitude of military and political factors.
This is not a good scenario.
Although it's not guaranteed to happen, it's still the monster in the closet.
We should have included keeping prices down on oil as a condition of the weapons package deal we made with them a while back.

Did you ever think that the weapons deal was part of pushing prices higher?
Kind of like removing the troops from Saudi Arabia as Bin Laden asked?

Yep, I agree with that.

When you are trading guns for the stuff you're addicted too, you usually don't have the option to impose conditions.
Especially when your dealer suddenly has the option to sell the same smack to the chinese.
