Simple "Lesser of two evils" BS or something a little more complicated?

I figure to use math and statistics.

I'll bet you my earnings for the rest of my life, against yours, that the next president will be either a dem or a repub.

Since i'm probably older then you, I'm not giving you good odds - but we can work out the details.

There is no "lesser of two evils" this go round! Not even close!

You'd have to give me about a billion to one. I think its pretty clear from my post that I agree with you on that. Curious as how people will justify voting for their own demise this Nov.

Like sheep falling off a cliff! I can see it all now.

I am going to delude myself into believing that there are actual philosophical differences between Republicans and Democrats. I am further going to delude myself into believing that my vote will go for the candidate that has been espousing positions that are closely aligned with my own. I will further fool myself into thinking that one of the candidates and his wife have a better grasp of what it is to grow up in a world that is not privileged and that because of this he will be able to relate much more to ordinary working people than either the other candidate or some off the wall fringe candidate who put forth positions that I neither believe in nor agree with.

I love how some are advocating a position of voting for anyone other than a candidate of the two main parties, an outsider, so to speak. The last time an true outsider was elected, basically a good, decent and honest man who preached family values and fretted over the fact that he had lusted in his heart, he was eaten alive, drawn and quartered and driven out of town on a rail. That man was Jimmy Carter and even today he is baselessly savaged on this board.

If you are a fan of big government politcians helping out their corporate buddies then Obama and McCain are perfect for you. I was speaking about us average joes who will e screwed by either candidate.

Well then I guess I'll just have to delude myself into thinking that if I vote for some fringe party candidate whose positions I disagree with I will somehow create a change for the better. Hmmm.....come to think about it, I would rather not.

Like I said, if you like status quo, rich getting richer, keeping the poor poor and doing both on the dime of the middle class, Obama and McCain are great choices.

Many of these people are blind by choice and I for one am not a guide dog. Their is hope for some but for many it is hopeless. Try to figure out which is which so as not to waste time on lost causes.

The only way it will change is if we vote for candidates who are not associated with the bought and paid for Republican and Democrat parties.

Carter is a foolish old man and voting for "none of the above" is called a
protest vote! And it will register a message next go around, if there is
another go around!!!:p

Jimmy Carter an outsider??? Jimmy Carter was a Democrat. Thats like saying a tree is an outsider to the forest. I do believe he was less corrupt than your average run of the mill Demopublican politician but he was weak and had poor leadership abilities. He has a good heart but he still to this day is easily misled and makes very poor decisions.
