we are headed towards a totally monitored police state, and there is nothing that can stop it.

in 30 years this country will not be recognizable.

the civil wars and the end of the era of cheap fossil carbon will be turn us all into monsters.

and nothing can stop it.

No choice but to do this. When you want government to control your life and be responsible for you, these things are necessary. Only way to stop it to vote for candidates who will limit and cut the power of the federal government, but I don't see that happening.

The government has had my finger prints for years.

I don't have police knocking on my door unless they are collecting for
the policeman's ball and I don't feel like my life is being run by the some secret government agency.

I see a lot of fear but little in the way of real world evidence to support the idea that we are becoming a police state. Yes, the patriot act went to far but that can be repaired.

From what I understand most of the UK is visible on camera 24/7 and I think we have some leaders that are jealous.

When we have 6.5 billion people & are suiciding the planet with our exponential growth & toxic technologies i am not sure we have much choice at this point.

Yeah, it does bother me.
But Human & personal extinction bother me more.
If anyone can offer a plausible alternative i am listening.
But I haven't heard one yet.

Oooh, i have a notion,
how about,
'anyone who can demonstrate their carbon footprint is lower than some threshold value doesn't have to be included.'

I kind of like that.

You can see the big government homers coming out in full force in support, they know it is necessary for their totalitarian paradise where corporations run every aspect of our lives via the politcians and a federal government with total power.

That's a good thing. His message is the two party system has failed and a vote for a Republican or Democrat is a vote for the status quo and a wasted vote. He may not agree with you on everyhting, but it doesn't matter, becuase he doesn't want to legislate his beleifs on you. For candidates like Obama and McCain it is important to know what their stances are, becuase they will force you to beleive as they do. Barr says it doesn't matter what his view on abortion is or what he thinks on gay marriage, becuase what he thinks is irrelevant, it should be up to you to make your own choices.

I dont have a problem with cameras in public places. They could be a safety
measure. But thats about as far as I go in tools of surveillance and government.

Lets see now, are they going to make all the illegals have id cards? How
would they keep up with the flood? They cant walk and chew gum at the same
time and they only ones theyd be IDing are dull, run of the mill, regular citizens who
work, have families and just get through life.

I think the government is too obcessed with their power and money under the
table to pull off a national id card and looks to me like they already know all
about us and our ss cards so they can exercise their punitive taxation.

That and the constitution and our rule of law. I wont be voting for either of
the two obvious candidates. Surely there will be at least a third choice and
Ill be voting for that one, whoever it is as a "none of the above" protest vote.
I still love Alan Keyes! Well, not "love" but strongly admire.;)

Any vote against the big two is a victory for America, however small.

Only thing is, it ends up being a feel-good thing, with only a projected 3% of the vote. Just enough to sway the outcome between the big two. Which could go aganist the principles they voted for Barr on, depending on which side the sway favors.

No, catslave, i think voting for some alternative, lets other people who have problems with our current selection process that they are not alone.
It gives them some psychological, moral support & they will be more likely to speak up.
Partly because there is tangible proof that there is a real and countable group who wants something else.

Even where i am not really against the entrenched democrat i have voted for the green party just to let them know there is some alternative.

There are no 'gods',
only fallible people, who sometimes go insane & mistakenly think they aren't fallible.

It is a 'reality check' to the status quo.
And sometimes it is the beginning of profound change.

It is your vote,
it is your choice to make.
There are very good reasons for however you decide to vote.

When it comes down to it when you vote fro Democrats and Republicans you are voting for big business, special interest, against freedom, and for a police state. They may go about it different ways, but these are goals of both parties and they are starting to work together better to accomplish these missions. If you are voting for members of these parties, you are voting for the status quo, and we've seen where that gets us. If you love your country, if you love freedom, voting against Republicans and democrats is a must.

Hell, in 30 years you'll have more to worry about than cheap carbon fossils. You'll have your survival to worry about. And that of your family. People need to sit up and pull their heads out of their asses and pay attention to what is going on. Every day our rights are in jeopardy. At the rate it's going, in 30 years we won't have any left. Welcome to the former land of the free and home of the slaves. Don't believe me? Go do some research.
But hey. I'm just one person. And it's easier to sit back and do nothing and think me an idiot. So be it!

It's really not even debatable. If Republicans and Democrats are in power, the power of government will always grow, this is not deniable, both parties will ALWAYS INCREASE GOVERNMENT in power, scope, and size. If you are voting for Dems and Reps you are voting for a totalitarian state absent of all freedom. Anyone who says other wise is a Dem or Repub sheep.

Thanks Cat Slave. But I'll never give up.....I'm someone who tells it like it is whether or not people like hearing it, is up to them...I'm just a messenger...We've been pussy footing around for too damn long. And look where it's gotten us. What a damn, God awful mess we've let these idiots create and get us quagmired in. Now we all have to band together and pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and deal with the friggin' mess. We should be real proud of ourselves....look at the shit we're leaving for our youth to have to come behind and clean up after us.....! They need our help NOW to get this country back in the direction it should be going, rather than on a road to Hell.....

Am I pissed off? You're damn right I am!!!!! And the rest of you should be as well. Wake up! :banghead:
